Yeah Da Silva looked really good and Moreno was a bit shaky defensively but excellent going forward and on dead balls he looked decent. I liked the pressing as well - lots of energy and determination

Taiwo looked like a man who was going to miss his penalty last night. That said, he hasn't had a lot of games and hasn't had a run for a while. I think sharpness is the key. He is making his way back and it is taking a little time so let's hope he doesn't let this set him back.

I did say about moreno it reminds me of the nicky shorey loan deal years back. He has real quality a good delivery and tons of experience it's a great deal for us. As for taiwo I haven't lost the faith yet he just needs to stay fit and get games and that will bring confidence. We can't even get a striker in the door and fans are slagging him off and want rid. We all know there's a handful of a player in him when he's confident. We need to keep him and have good options to rely on

Eye opening performance last night after that start. Cracking game to watch, and some of Forest's movement was brilliant. Energy and enthusiasm in abundance! In fact, considering it was the reserves, it was one of the best performances by a Forest side that I've seen in a while. Just lacked a bit of quality in the final third. Hudson-Odoi and Elanga must be seriously worried. I like Taiwo and I thought he played well, but I think he's on his way if they sign this guy.

The worrying thing about Taiwo is you play him for 3 or 4 games like this to get him up to speed and then he gets injured again.

Taiwo looks about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. He was the only player who started yesterday and had a terrible performance - he was worse than useless. He doesnt look fit at all and why he was allowed to take a penalty i'll never know as we all knew if someome was going to miss it'd be him. As for the game, we played well and it's very encouraging when you consider the starting 11 had never played together before but we looked good; a little shaky at the back but going forward we looked decent. Compare this performance to the dross last year against Burnley and theres no comparison. I just hope we sign a striker as if Wood gets injured we'll be stuffed if we have to rely on Taiwo😢

Great performance v Newcastle apart from the start . One thing that p..shed me of was the intermingling by the forest replacements and the Newcastle lot . It was like a tea party with matey chats on the sidelines . Back slapping etc . MGW - fully deserved call up, LC knows him well and what his qualities are. Congrats MGW🎉 As each day/hour passes we have reverted to behaviours of recent windows🫣 Be great to some sanity restored! We need a solid season finish 12-18 points above relegation, with a sprinkling of great performances against the top 6. Do that and next summers window will be a lot easier to sign a quality striker. Just over 24hrs Wolfie and you can relax, at least until the watch along on Saturday! Great updates thanks. On Awoniyi, he doesn’t deserve all the flak. Not sure what the personal issue was that interfered with his pre season, but his head didn’t look like he was in the game. Hopefully he gets back to his best but yesterday does underline why another No.9 is needed.

My gut feeling is we’ll struggle again this year and have a new manager before the January window with a GK top of the list. I’m just thinking back to Clough & Taylor buying Shilton as a priority and always building from the back. As I say I hope you are right and I am wrong……hopefully we’ll get a striker sorted at least although that should have been done in June so they had preseason to settle in a bit.

The other night Forest Ant said Sels had been perfectly acceptable against Southampton; I’m just not sure that’s enough for us to progress this season and with the striker situation unresolved it seems the only way we’ll get someone now is by paying too much. I can just see a scenario where we have insufficient cover at both ends of the pitch and be looking over our should again rather than looking ahead. Time will tell.

A far better comparison for Marmoush instead of Henry I'd go with prime Vardy but with alot more skill from both feet. This would be a very very good signing for Forest

The level of incompetence this off season from my Forest and Gunners makes me ill. I wish they would stop going after strikers who dont want to play for them. And both are capable of doing good things this season. When you add the decline of Taiwo, between both teams, Wood is the only true striker that is healthy. Havertz isnt a traditional 9 and Taiwo isnt going to be a full match player again and will fight to be properly fit again. Its all so frustrating. Edit - Good for you MGW. Deserved the chance to prove himself imho
