I didn't think the killer goal from nearly nothing striker was needed in the summer window but the injury to Odegaard has meant the way we play has changed a bit. We all know there's a player in Martinelli, he's just not on it. Like last year, Kai struggled in the system until that bang moment - right now it's Martinelli. I really do hope the narrative of a Timber / Cala + Merino left side will start to bring the best out of Martinelli again. Squad creativity is down to its bear bones. Watching Smith Rowe score every week no since his left and Nelson score two in a week you got to wonder whether we errored in letting them go especially with all the injuries we now have

I think we'll play the long ball game, over the top and away. Put 3 from Saka/Sterling/Trossard/Jesus/Martinelli across the front line and hook it over to either of them and we'll be in. Rice, Havertz and Jorginho can keep the midfield tight and help in defence. White, Saliba, Gabriel and Calafiori is a great back line against City.

Analyzing both the Tottenham and Atalanta matches, it's evident that most of our chances, although limited, have been created on the left wing, while the right side has remained relatively inactive. Given that we're not utilizing the right wing as effectively as before, it might be worth considering moving Saka to the midfield to take over Ødegaard’s position.

I’m an Arsenal fan. But how are we as a fan base not realising Martinelli simply isn’t good enough for what we need out of a starting winger? Says everything about where we are right now as a club and a fan base. Not quite there. Yes, City played a day earlier and at home while Arsenal played a day later and had to travel to and from Italy. But you cannot dwell on this and psychologically believe that you start with a disadvantage. It irks me when Charles talks about a win at home and a draw at City would be a good result. That's the attitude that Arsenal cannot afford to have if they really want to topple City. Losing points must never be thought of as an acceptable outcome. It's funny how the fanbase want them to win the title but feel that losing points is okay. A champion goes for it and is never happy to lose any points, at any time and for any reason.

You have to be tactical and clever in this games. Rivals want us to attack attack for city to exploit these tactics. it's not going to happen. Top games now are a tactical battle and i think tactically we are better than city. we do i say this: we can adapt out playing style and have more than one option whereas city would hope Haarland makes something out of nothing. look at the game against Brentford. those longs balls or defensive lapses would not be in play for city. I doubt Arsenal will finish in the top two this season. The team are too stodgy and lack some attacking flair IMHO. Hopefully I'm wrong. If we've learnt anything in the last couple of years is that Arteta always plays safe so I doubt we'll see Calafiori start and think something like the set up against Spurs but with Rice instead of Jorghino is most likely. Personally I'd keep Partey and Jesus well away from this game but I'm sure Arteta will go for both of them.
