Had to come up with a 'workaround' for mine. I have the ever so popular 'left side barn door not opening' problem, so I can't get to the screws behind the window. I actually replaced mine by just carefully removing the light itself from the assembly without breaking the clips! Not easy to do, but I did it! :)

Its a third brake light. He keeps calling it a tail light for some reason. Works brake only.

These R 55s are terrible. Mine has an engine management problem that BMW have no clue how to fix. They say its the timing, but it is intermittent?
