this is one of those rare times where i like the live version as much as the album.... they pulled this one off great!

Yeah and when it comes to 3eb it’s super rare. They are usually shit live, but this is superb.

The Whole album is amazing!!! And all of the AOL sessions are awesome! 3EB is the best ever !!!

This is one of those rare times where i like the live version more than the album. It was just executed so well. Unlike the other 2 AOL acoustics in my opinion.

Hell yes he does!! Written from deep life experiences!! But the way they put it all together with Stevens voice pitched abilities!! Yup your right! The most unique ear dp I've ever had!! Lol! (Don't take that seriously) But yes can't help but to sing along at my loudest and worst pitch you've ever heard!!!

My favorite modern lyricist. Once told him he was better than Bob. Called me an asshole. My fav after Mick and Keef.
@imstoned66 жыл бұрын
Anthony Burnam certainly up there. He sucks live, not gonna lie, but his lyrics are second to none.

Only these guys could make such a beautiful song about the 2 seconds that you remember from a motorcycle crash.
@lynh35575 жыл бұрын
its those sliver of moments that they do so well... like a strike right through the heart.
@WhiskeyPlease-xq3ru Жыл бұрын
Totally agree. How long does it take to get into a crash. Lie on the payment and figure out you are not dead and get up and walk away? 5-10 seconds? And describe those 5-10 seconds over 4+ minutes. Great song no one has heard of.
@NemFX Жыл бұрын
I was hit by a car. You really have a lot more than 2 seconds. It feels like time literally slows down. I remember the weirdly lurching feeling of my stomach trying to orient to the new direction i was going in. Every time I drive past there now, I feel it happen again. I had enough time to do a few actions, so what was probably only 2 seconds to an observer, was probably like.. i dunno, ten seconds, maybe longer to me? it was enough to react and think about what to do.

It always amazes me how this band never got the credit they deserved. Every album, most every song were so well written, the band was always crisp, and Jenkins can sing!

Love Third Eye Blind. Love even more the fact that Stephen will punch it live when so many other lead singers ease off opportunities to emphasize certain parts of a song.

Stephan Jenkins's voice has gotten so much better live. Saw them in '98 and was sorely disappointed. Now, though, I'm hearing recent live performances and am incredibly excited to turn to them for "new feeling" 3eb music. Go Stephan! Sing it out!

What a cool song this is. I’ve known many who have died from a motorcycle crash, while knowing those who’ve walked away from them as well. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good at what you love to do !
@nickynice711111 жыл бұрын
One of my fav's too...a killer B-side, beautifully crafted w/ extreme lyrical relevance...(esp. to those of us who've had brothers die on a motorcycle..at least somebody got to walk away from their hit n run)

Feel the speed through the intersection Sheets of rain I seek out cars Hands in gloves grip handlebars I was ?? alone in the dark I get a little wet but I don't have to park At the bar another light starts flashing green As I ride a car turns left and I slide I can't turn back, I make contact Blinkers smash into mosaic Then I start flyin' Always think we get more time Now flyin' through the air And maybe I am dyin' In this motor crash maybe there's a sign? Don't we always think we get more time? I'm thrust slow mo through time and space Details smash, I protect my face And then I see yours And go to a time when we just knew Mister death in the car below Doesn't even slow and away he goes In the majesty of a motor crash Skid into my darkness forming Sex and death, heartbreak and strife But they bring no warning Always think we'll get more time Now I'm flying through the air And it's you who comes to mind And the red lights, like Cathedrals, there's a sign Don't we always think we get more time? Here it comes! My hit and run! Always think we'll get more time Now I'm flyin' through the air And it's you who comes to mind In the shattered glass reflections there's a sign 'Cause you were there And I wish we had more time I come down hard and roll to my feet And rain washes blood now off concrete People turn away and I just had to laugh 'Cause I'm still flyin' Living and dyin' Always think we get more time Now I'm flyin' through the air And it's you who comes to mind And this motorcycle crash there is a sign 'Cause you were there and I wish we had more time You were there And I'd like to thank Mister Death now for what he's done 'Cause I got to walk away from my hit and run (You were there) Mysteries are not so empty now as they seemed (You were there) 'Cause I saw you At my hit and run At my hit and run (The LIVE lyrical version is slightly different from the commercial version)

@lynettbrochill Tony definitely did his fair share in contributions to songwriting just not as much as Kevin did and as far as furthering the band's reputation, a lot of it had to deal with their dissolving record label at the time Elektra and the record label not promoting the album OOTV or the band, which they consequently dropped shortly there after. It did not have much to deal with Tony per se. A few years back they were actually the most requested band on college campuses

@tattoofthesun14 жыл бұрын
@mikks9876 well, i know that he left before the new album. he helped in it apparently? i think anyway. my educated guess is that he didnt really want to be a part of this new 3eb scene and retired to a life outside the band therefore. wiki says that the band reserves an "open door" policy for his return

i know what a shame. but theyre coming back with a new album. ( ursa major ) its gonna be awesome. hopefully. but even when they were "in" that song wasnt one of the big famous ones. i mean it wasnt like the coolest song in the world but it deserved more credit.
