Excellent demonstration and explanation and like what we call Cadena de Mano(Chain of hands) in our style. This is good because this drill can be advanced to defend against a very aggressive knife attack. Though this demo is done in slow motion to make it understandable, it can be sped up over time to become very practical and realistic for a very real encounter. I really like this exercise and the technique that is presented here!!! Also, you can expand on this drill to make it practical for even a slashing kind of attack.

I am wondering about PTK being introduced in New York? Are you saying recently? We met Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje in Dayton, Ohio about 1980... not sure of the exact date. We have schools in the Indianapolis area, and we were soon having seminars, training sessions, and he even came to our week long summer camp. He used to have training in Texas in the early 1980's, which I attended. We even had some of his instructors come to Indianapolis and hold seminars. In these later years, I have lost touch with him. Is he well? Does he still live here or in the Philippines? Thank you for the video. Douglas Adamson

I would think taking the blade away is more important than a little hand strike, what is that going to do? It's an option,the third hand, but that could be dangerous,IMHO.
@NOMADKACF2 жыл бұрын
So how do you take a blade away? You have to use your hands! lol. Plus when he says hands, earlier he said hands could mean forearm, fist, finger or elbow strikes. So it’s not just a “little hand.” Not sure how long you’ve been training martial arts, and what styles. But here’s a simple thing. In order to grab an opponent who’s not going to be a compliant person. You need to initiate/cause a distraction or disruption to them via pain. Such as a strike. Just diving to grab a weapon arm is extremely dangerous! Parrying and deflecting gives you an opportunity to counterattack. Which will lead to grabs. And so on and so forth.

Pero no indicas cómo desarmar que es lo importante por más que se sepa pelear igual sale cortado la gentes mala piensan en hacer daño como sea te tira el cuchillo aves atacan hasta con dos cuchillos uno en cada mano

Very difficult to follow the gentleman’s explanation. He doesn’t make sense.
@NOMADKACF2 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t? It’s pretty clear. Simplifying targeting. Understanding nuances of slashes between thrusts. That when the attacking hand attacks you, that’s the 1st “hand” and your response with your deflecting hand is the 2nd “hand” and the counter strike from you is the 3rd “hand.”

too many moves i think.

Not really. Basically the same as more advanced boxing pad drills. It’s a development of skills and cognitive development.
