Then they spend every minute talking about these kinda stuff which bored Claire and then they ditched Claire and wandered around all by themselves. The cherry on top was when a French artist made a portrait of Phil and Guy when they were siting on a bench, thinking that they were a couple. And finally Phil promised to meet Guy in that same cafe 30 years later.

This is a show* with that being said, let’s analyze this situation which doesn’t bode well for Phil no matter how you slice it. So this happened 30 years ago when she had this passionate time with the French guy well before Phil. The moment French guy sees her and she sees him, they immediately recognize each other. This means she has never forgotten about him in 30 long azz years and vice versa. He asked if she remembered the promise and she replied:”vaguely”. This tells you that she did since obviously she has never forgotten him. After 30 years if it was something insignificant, you will not even closely remembered. After the exchange, Phil tries to put that aside and tells his wife to let’s go and have an amazing, romantic time together. Claire, tells Phil: “Don’t you feel guilty leaving him there all alone?” (Like why would Phil have to care about this total stranger?). Phil gives in like a good understanding husband and ends up trailing behind them while Claire and French guy reminisce about the past. (Total disrespect). Technically they did meet after all that time as promised. So, Claire seems to have settled with Phil and lived her life as boring as it may have been. This happens to more women that people realize. French guy was truly her soulmate. So much that Destiny herself put them in the same path 30 years later (assuming it was not premeditated by Claire since she could have remembered about the promise all along). So either she lied to Phil or Destiny wants her to finish her years with French guy and truly live, love and laugh the last years of her life.
