As a non-European, it's sad to see the situation there. Even though I never applied for a Visa, I know many who wanted to migrate there legally. The requirements are ridiculously tough, but make sense. You have to be fluent in English, you shouldn't be financially broken (need to have a certain minimum amount in the bank ) etc. Then you have to attend interviews conducted in the consulate. It's a lengthy process and there is no guarantee that you may get a Visa. Then there are the illegal migrants. You have to cross the border somehow and then everything is a piece of cake. Free food, shelter, jobs etc. This is an insult to the citizens as well as legal migrants at the same time.

The Met Police in London use to collate such crime figures and publish them and it showed year on year out that a certain ethnicity of individuals were perpetrating these crimes. It was the same with stop and search. In London it worked for a time because, again, a certain ethnicity were carrying knives and other weapons such as screwdrivers to help them carry out those crimes. In Middlesbrough when they appointed a drugs czar to stamp out drug related crime, stats showed that stop and search and blitzing an area without warning not only caught criminals unawares on the streets but also had a major effect on future crime. The main problem with this country and always has been, is that whilst we love our freedoms like free speech (which is now also getting targeted by the left) and human rights laws the left and those ethnics who carry out most of the crimes cry either Racism or Human Rights violations against the police and the support networks like charities and left wing Human Right's Lawyers (making a killing I might add from the British taxpayer) spring into action on behalf of these criminals. It's a never ending saga and self funding as far as these left wing lawyers go. If we had no issues over Asylum claims these lawyers would be out of work so it's in their own interests to try every trick in the book to keep these people in the country. As for any foreign national found guilty of any crime in this country they shouldn't be sent to prison at the taxpayers expense, they should be instantly deported to their country of birth and if we can't establish that because they've destroyed their documents and effectively made themselves stateless, we should deport them to a third country that we have an agreement with.

I’m a child of immigrants. British born Asian. It really makes me upset when people make these kind of comments. I have always felt British because I was born here. I even write better English than English some people. Many children of immigrants are massive contributors to British society in many ways, healthcare, business, teaching, writers, artists, musicians, comedy, food, restaurants etc. It makes me so upset that people are making these kind of comments. Just because our skin color isn’t ‘white’, and our genetics are not ‘Anglo Saxon’, it doesn’t mean we are completely different from you. If all of us disappeared from this country, the UK would be a pretty boring place to live. We bring color, culture, different perspectives , festivals and hard workers to the country. Immigrants are hard workers and their children become great additions to British society. I don’t understand why people would want to live in a country where everyone was a homogeneous race. Sounds pretty boring to me.

This is something the govt needs to control, slowly but surely. But please don’t let this increase in numbers make you ‘hate’ people of other races. I am an immigrant who never have any intention of living in this country especially when the government is making things difficult for skilled workers and welcoming the illegal migrants. Some people come to the UK, study here and wants to contribute to this beautiful nation. Honestly this would have been a paradise if certain decisions would have been taken by the previous governments. I have seen the ground reality from my days while i was pursuing my masters and now when i am working as an engineer. I never want to see this beautiful country become a third world country. Hopefully this government will take measures controlling the immigration.

Sadly, Daniel is spot on. Sweden was an incredibly safe and very low crime country until the immigrants poured in. When I lived for a while in Ireland, over 30 years ago, it was also a very safe country, and though many didn't have that much the Irish were, on the whole, a happy people. Once again the immigrants destroyed this. Others could add more countries to this tragic list. It's not immigrants per se. Some, like Indian doctors and dentists contribute a lot to this country, but so many simply shouldn't be here.
