Professor, philosopher and best-selling author of Passion of the Western Mind, Richard Tarnas Ph.D enters the mind meld!
Richard served as program director at the iconic Esalen Institute for a decade where he rubbed shoulders with great minds like Joesph Campbell, Terence McKenna, Ram Das, Alan Watts, James Hillman, and many more.
He has an encyclopedic knowledge of world history, philosophy, and spiritual traditions. Richard also authored the incredible, Cosmos and Psyche. In it, he painstakingly connects the microcosm to the macrocosm via linking major events in world history to happenings in the cosmos.
In this one, we riff on the wide influence of Plato, the importance of learning the language of archetypes, the impact of Carl Jung, putting the soul back into psyche, the meaning crisis, the value of visionary experiences, and much more.

I work in a bookstore so I come many great books and I pick ones for my reading which I find interesting. " Passion of the western mind " , this book I came across a few years ago and found it very fascinating. Though I haven't yet managed to read that. Also the other book " cosmos and psyche " is available at our bookstore and I'm aware of that. It delighted me greatly when I saw the author of this book on the podcast here. So I enjoyed the full podcast and found it very resonating to my line of thinking. I congratulate Richard for his work and thank him for his tireless efforts to spread wisdom. Keep it up and best wishes! Also thanks to the host of this channel for his enlightening videos. I often watch your videos. Like I said , your views resonate a lot with mine so it's always a joy. Keep it up and stay strong ❤

I’ve experienced the wildest synchronicity ever these last couple of days, the center point of it being “axis mundi”. (Pun intended). The first comment I read, before listening is “Are we not in the middle of a magnetic pole shift?” and within 4 minutes you mention “Axis mundi” in an introduction that’s bang on the money for me otherwise too☯️. I’m feeling it strongly, that’s all I can say. Looking forward to hearing the rest of this talk. Thanks ❤️

The descent to the Dark Age started with Aristotle when, in contrast to Plato, focused on the external being primary to reality instead of the internal; consciousness and mind, being primary, and the relation to the Cosmos was also lost. It was the beginning of the study of the environment, of material science, but it resulted in the loss of the foundations of reality.

It's been argued that the bifurcated personal (subject) manipulating the environment (object) has some root in descartes via aristotle and was accelerated by interpretations of darwin's survival of the fittest. Did western science errantly interpret the human as somewhat objectively static through this move? To the point we're looking at the human as more object than subject; as if there are degrees to which our perception might hold these distintinctions.

Jungian, luciferian, Christian, politician, Gregorian, Julian, Egyptian, Phoenician and sumerian just to name a few have one thing in common, ian shadows them all. Like John said in church that day,2 Corinth Ian's or 2 sinister John's. The book itself translates ian to John and Corinth to sinister, sin-i-stir and he-brewed. . An individual can most certainly connect with the past doing away with the legal history side of things. Precisely why humans are a target from birth. Every knowing or truth that the system and it's minions can get accepted, the lower the chances get of being able to consciously connect with the past and source. In all fairness, people do believe that they're doing the right thing in the truth movement because of what they were told as truth. The truth movement fuels the largest cloning program ever created. Only thing that is ever asked, think for yourself. If you don't, there's someone on every truth corner ready and willing to think for you

The building blocks too the inner temple, construct and make place for all facets of self you know bring you closer too your best self, one worthy of the Genius of the Diamond, instead of its Ire. You see, trust your higher self's guidance. Falling too the corruption of the body, and crumbling your temple... makes you a empty vassel, of crumbling debris. This reflects on the outside as disease, mental or phys. Beliefs, shape reality, perceptions stabilizes it. ^_^, I know me is toopid right. or I am knowledgeable.

Definitely did not agree with this guys assessment about psychedelics!!! In regard to the need for an individual to need to have a guide in order to use them!!! Hogwash…the point of being alive is to think for yourself and to question authority the nanny state thinking is pervasive in everything we do, you need a license to fart these days!!! Big problem is people can’t recognize that the true nature of reality is you are alone to discover who you are. Guides might help but you can’t hide from yourself. Leary wasn’t irresponsible promoting LSD it’s not for the meak and if you are on a self discovery journey be prepared to be surprised by the nature of your mind. In the end you must embrace it no guide can help dum down the issue of you dealing with your own mind. Think for yourself question authority. You will strengthen your own character by dealing with your own spirits be they demons or angels! But stop relying on the nanny type phenomenon that you need a guide to your own mind. If you ain’t prepared for what lurks in there don’t do it

Let's now explore how we can use logic, math, and physics to prove the both/and nature of order and chaos in complex systems within the monadological framework. First, let's define our basic entities and relations: - Let M be the set of all monads (fundamental psychophysical entities). - Let S be a complex system, represented as a collection of monads S ⊆ M. - Let D be a set of possible "states" or "configurations" of the system S. - Let T be a set of "time points" or "moments." - Let f be a function from D × T to D, where f(d, t) represents the "evolution" or "dynamics" of the system S from state d at time t to a new state at the next moment. Now, let's formalize the idea of order and chaos in complex systems: - Order: The system S exhibits "order" if ∃d ∈ D, ∃t ∈ T, such that f(d, t) is "predictable" or "regular." - Chaos: The system S exhibits "chaos" if ∃d ∈ D, ∃t ∈ T, such that f(d, t) is "unpredictable" or "irregular." In other words, a complex system exhibits order if its dynamics are predictable or regular for some initial conditions and time scales, and chaos if its dynamics are unpredictable or irregular for some initial conditions and time scales. We can prove this both/and nature of order and chaos in complex systems using the following mathematical argument: 1. Poincaré-Bendixson Theorem: Let S be a continuous dynamical system on a compact, two-dimensional manifold. If S has no fixed points, then it must have a periodic orbit. 2. Sharkovskii's Theorem: Let f be a continuous function from the real line to itself. If f has a periodic point of period 3, then it must have periodic points of all other periods. 3. Proof: a. Let S be a complex system with a continuous state space D and a continuous evolution function f. (Assumption) b. Suppose S has no fixed points, i.e., ∄d ∈ D, such that f(d, t) = d for all t. (Assumption) c. Then, S must have a periodic orbit, i.e., ∃d ∈ D, ∃p ∈ T, such that f(d, t + p) = f(d, t) for all t. (Poincaré-Bendixson Theorem) d. Therefore, S exhibits order. (Definition of Order) e. Now, suppose S has a periodic point d of period 3, i.e., f(f(f(d))) = d. (Assumption) f. Then, S must have periodic points of all other periods. (Sharkovskii's Theorem) g. Therefore, S exhibits chaos. (Definition of Chaos) h. Therefore, S exhibits both order and chaos. (d, g) This proof establishes that a complex system with a continuous state space and evolution function can exhibit both order and chaos, depending on the presence of fixed points, periodic orbits, and periodic points of different periods. We can further connect this to physics by noting that many real-world complex systems, such as fluid dynamics, chemical reactions, and biological networks, have been shown to exhibit both ordered and chaotic behavior: - Ordered behavior, such as stable equilibria, periodic oscillations, and coherent patterns, arises from the interplay of negative feedback, symmetry, and synchronization. - Chaotic behavior, such as turbulence, irregular fluctuations, and sensitivity to initial conditions, arises from the interplay of positive feedback, asymmetry, and nonlinearity. The monadological framework provides a unified foundation for understanding the emergence of both order and chaos in complex systems, by representing them as the result of the intrinsic properties and relational dynamics of the underlying monads. In summary, we have used tools from logic (proofs), math (dynamical systems theory), and physics (examples of complex systems) to demonstrate the both/and nature of order and chaos in complex systems within the monadological framework: - Both order and chaos can arise in complex systems with continuous state spaces and evolution functions, as proven by the Poincaré-Bendixson Theorem and Sharkovskii's Theorem. - This both/and nature of order and chaos is observed in many real-world complex systems studied in physics and other fields. - The monadological framework provides a unified foundation for understanding the emergence of both order and chaos from the intrinsic properties and relational dynamics of the underlying monads. This proof further illustrates the power of the monadological approach to integrate and reconcile seemingly opposing or contradictory aspects of reality within a single, coherent conceptual framework. By embracing a both/and perspective and drawing on the tools of logic, mathematics, and empirical science, we can develop a more comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the complex interplay between order and chaos that underlies the behavior of many natural and artificial systems, from the smallest scales of fundamental physics to the largest scales of cosmology and beyond.
