Btw Zan, the Echoes of Battle mechanic that lets you re-fight bosses again is in Sekiro, however it even has different gauntlets you can run with completely unique bosses that aren’t found in base Sekiro, I’d highly recommend it.

Man beating Pieta without knowing how to parry or critical attack is wild. As a tip, you can parry basically any attack in the game. It isn't required but it does help deplete their stagger gauge

I had so much fun with this game. Go for the Umbral ending Zanny. Its kinda the secret one. The two main ones (espacially the good ending) suck major balls. But other than that, great game.

My absolute favourite Souls-like ever. I love how it mixes loads of cool mechanics from souls games together and adds loads more, like game modifiers and Umbral. It fixes everything wrong with Souls games, despite the issues it had on release. On PS5, it still runs better than Elden Ring. No, I'm not joking. Also, you can parry basically any attack that isn't an AoE, so almost everything Pieta does is parryable, you just need to time it right.

When the game released, it was a technical mess. But after several patches, I have to admit that this is the best Soulslike next to Lies of P. I'd recommend it to every Souls fan and would love to see Zanny play the rest of it!

Zanny, you'll be happy to know that you can get both boss armor and boss weapons in this game and they are the exact same as the boss themselves in design. If a boss has a cool weapon that you love the design of, you'll be able to get it as your own. Unlike lies of p with the weapon we all wish we could have... 😞

14:16 before when fighting the first boss the lightreaper would spawn and you either had to die from it or kill it, but they seem to have made it easier for new players.

As a Lords of the Fallen pro at this point, the art direction and lore is the best part of this game. If lore over gameplay is your style, this game is for you. Not to say the gameplay is BAD but some changes to the combat could make it better, especially PvP. The character quests are a mixed bag. Some are perfectly fine in their own right but others are just terrible. There’s this one girl that you have to summon for multiple boss fights for her quest BUT you have to die to the boss at least once before you’re even able to summon anyone. This is problem if you just so happen to first try every single boss, which is pretty much what happened to me. Doing this automatically fails her quest. And then there’s the fact that her quest completely is in combat with another quest for one particular boss fight so you have to pick one or the other.

SPOILERS, I REPEAT SPOILERS BELOW I remember this game, found a spear pretty early and fell in love with it. Puzzles were fun. Bosses that I fought were all right except for one of them. Found the lamp world idea to be legitimately awesome, and unique. I like the idea that your ranged options was a different slot allowing you to seamlessly go between range and melee. The only big complaint I have is that horse boss who is in 3rd place for worst video game bosses I have ever fought. I have no clue if I was unlucky or something but the boss just kept getting back on the horse which gave it iv frames. It then ran around the map for minutes every time, making it so I can't attack it. The idea is that you can either parry, use the lamp world to detonate bombs, or use a ranged weapon to knock the boss off the horse, but I found the hitboxes so bad that 90% of the time even if my stuff connected visually nothing actually happened. When on the ground the boss is actually decent, but my God is it so ass with its 20 years of iv frame it gives its self, just a boring boss fight. I have beaten the boss and progressed significantly further, but I never did beat the game because shadow of the erdtree came out
