I played 4 of the GOTY nominees. Wukong, SOTE, Astro Bot, and FF7 Rebirth. All 4 are amazing but personally I think wukong should win. Astro bot is fun but I simply liked wukong more SOTE is a DLC and DLCs shouldn't be eligible imo FF7 Rebirth was awesome, but it's a remake.

idk the way i see it is that, the elden ring dlc was much much more anticipated, talked about and played than ANY game this year besides helldivers which blew its shot by shitty devs and being PlayStation owned and just lack of content sorry but some armor and a gun or two that always are some of the worse guns in the game or a super shit stratagem isnt good or something that ill praise its lazy and it doesnt make me want to go back and play, there is no variety in that game its fun for 2 hours and then you cant play it for at least 2 weeks its super repetitive. shadow of erdtree it is also just as much content as most "complete" games that come out now so i dont really care that its dlc thats what these devs get for being lazy and dumb, fromsoft took their time and released a banger that EVERYONE heard about and played there is almost 0 competition imo. wukong is a beautiful game and is cool but i just dont think it got the same attention Elden ring got and wasn't as good, at the end of the day a souls like will never be better than the real thing.

I'll start with saying, I agree with everyone. There should be a standalone dlc category. There's also precedence with dlcs being nominated for past game awards.. But do all that next year. Elden sweep baby! Let's go! They need to restructure and properly nail down what each of the categories actually stand for. Some of the games just don't belong in certain categories, silent hill in action/adventure when wukong and stellar blade is literally that.

DLC has always been allowed to be Game of the Year. Witcher 3 Blood and Wine even won Best Role-Playing Game. I would have loved to see Helldivers 2 or Silent Hill 2, but Elden Ring DLC isn't a bad choice, especially since it literally has just as much content as some of the other full fledged games in the nominees. I think the real problem is the fact there is no "Best DLC" or "Best Remake" category. Allow them to have their own section, and then we wouldn't need to have this problem. Elden Ring DLC is one of the best gaming experiences I've had this year, but it is ridiculous that we have to include it with the other complete games. It's even more hilarious how said DLC is better than half of the other candidates.

Just like the Oscars the game awards are rigged every year. Im barely 6 minutes in and zanny has decided this vid is 90% zanny asking why shadow of the erdtree is in any of the lists. Goty i understand but why he questioning why its in best art direction?
