pineapple and kaluha is an odd combo, tried it before. really needs something tart to offset the sweet combo

Yeah it works as a standalone...or even Mr Black as a less sweet alternative. But with the addition of Lemon/Lime...or even something like Suze can work.

Yup, Tia Maria should work. Slightly different taste, but close enough. Just be aware, for products like Mr Black or Conker have less Sugar Content than Kahlua or Tia Maria, so they're not as sweet.
