UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, is on the brink of collapse. Since the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel, the agency has come under suspicion, accused of being too close to the terrorist acts of Hamas. Many donor countries have suspended their financial contributions as a result.
Philippe Lazzarini, the commissioner-general of UNRWA, is fighting body and soul for its survival. For one month, France 24 reporters followed him across the United States, the Middle East and Europe in his race against time to find the funding for the activities and salaries of his thousands of employees.

This video says the refugee crisis started because of the creation of Israel. But the UN recognized Israel, the Palestinians refused the separation deal and under those conditions there would have been not a single refugee. For some reason the video skips the war waged by Palestinians, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and other regional powers militias against the UN recognized Israel. Only after and as a result of the war they started, Palestinians were displaced. It's not a narrative, it's facts. You can argue the war was necessary or something, but to pretend Israel was formed by displacing Palestinians is a lie and ironically this is said in a video meant to save UNRWA who is accused of incitement and revisionism. Let this be a warning to all the donors who think their money going to an impartial humanitarian organization.

These are absolutely false claims - a mystification of real history. Fact is, that Israel ethnically cleansed Palestine before the state was even founded in 1948. Palestinian villages were destroyed and 750 000 people displaced. That was the Ben Gurion master plan, as Ilan Pappe calls it.

And why are the families so large when clearly they can't support so many children. One should not have so many children and expect other hard working parents who are struggling to feed, house and provide medical care for their own children only to have to pay for others children. It's not fair to the children in Gaza and it's not fair to the children of other countries either!
