It's such a satisfying pleasure to watch Shannon drum. He's the beating heart of the band. But Jared's voice somehow manages to touch my soul. I can't really pinpoint what it is in his voice that manages to calm my mind. Some people may say he isn't the best singer in the world and this may be true (it's subjective and debatable), but I can't think of any singer who's voice had such an effect on me, instruments yes, but not singers. Can't stop listening to him.

I'm in this video! I think this was the most religious experience I've ever had in a church. (and I went to Catholic school for 12 years.)
@ddelfao11 жыл бұрын
Can you explain the lyrics to me? I would like to understand the religious aspect of it. Thank you.
@cerena11 жыл бұрын
No religion in the song; just the experience of being in a church surrounded by friends collectively singing the chorus... it was like a religious experience. Their concerts are very powerful.
@ddelfao11 жыл бұрын
I see. So many people are claiming that these lyrics are about religion; more precisely, about Christianity, but I just don't see how these lyrics are related to the latter. Thanks for clearing things up!
@cerena11 жыл бұрын
Not a problem!
@EnragedPotato2611 жыл бұрын
ddelfao Maybe I can clear something up. I personally find this song to be religious towards Christianity. The biggest hints are #1. when he says "we stole our new lives, through blood and name." In the bible it is said when we repent and are baptized in the NAME of Jesus, we begin a NEW LIFE in Christ. The water used in baptism symbolizes the BLOOD of Jesus. The 2nd hint is the entire chorus. "We were the Kings and Queens of promise." In the bible, it is stated when the 2nd coming of Jesus occurs, all of those who make it to heaven will become Kings and Queens of Earth. We will each have our own crowns based on how holy we were in our human life. "We were the victims of ourselves." We like to try and blame God on our own actions without realizing we chose to do the decision and not God. "maybe the children of a lesser God, between heaven and hell." In the bible, one of the commandments is not to have any other Gods or idols before God. This correlates also with the fact that in the bible, its stated people not only idolized objects over God but also nowadays people will worship things over God. This can be money, sex, theft, cars, etc. A lot of people put all of these ahead of worshipping God. The between heaven and hell obviously explains earth being in between heaven and hell. The 3rd hint is "the age of man is over. A darkness comes at dawn. These lessons that weve learned here. Have only just begun." The age of man symbolizing the 2nd coming of Jesus. These lessons that weve learned here have only just begun symbolizes all of the lessons and experiences weve been through in this life isnt over. Jesus gives us eternal life. Like I said, i know Jared has said they try and have multiple interpretations for their songs. This is just what I feel Kings and Queens is about. Just because I see it this way, doesnt mean i am necessarily right. The final hint is the next song is this is war... I interpret this as the war of armageddon stated in the bible. The song after that 100 suns, can be interpreted as the biblical 1000 years, which occurs after the war of armageddon.
