That song you listen to when you finally work the math of existence out for yourself and realize how piteously helpless we are concerning what happens to us; so you lift your chin and let the rain fall upon your tired face, you let every drop of bitterness cry down with the sky until you're soaked with the misery, then you pray for the sunshine to caress the weariness away; maybe a song like this rocks you in it's arms murmuring a soothing berceuse until you dream this life away.

…or… (very well written though your post is, I beg you to hear me out)… That song you listen to and plagiarize four years after its original released (if you’re Jared Leto, and you like eyeliner) hoping no Boston-area fans of the band *Dear Leader* have ever heard their marquis song, _Nightmare Alleys,_ which was released in autumn of 2006, almost a full four years earlier: kzbin.info/www/bejne/movXXp6BnrCNjrc&feature=share As someone who feels strongly about about such matters-trivial though they are, no doubt-I invite you, or *anyone* who actually takes the time to _listen_ to the entirety of the above Dear Leader song, to convince me that Leto and his crew _didn’t_ rip them off. Respectfully: I look forward to your counter-arguments.

Into the night Desperate and broken The sound of a fight Father has spoken We were the kings and queens of promise We were the victims of ourselves Maybe the children of a lesser God Between heaven and hell Heaven and hell Into your eyes Hopeless and taken We stole our new lives Through blood and pain In defense of our dreams In defense of our dreams We were the kings and queens of promise We were the victims of ourselves Maybe the children of a lesser God Between heaven and hell Heaven and hell The age of man is over A darkness comes and all These lessons that we've learned here Have only just begun We were the kings and queens of promise We were the victims of ourselves Maybe the children of a lesser God Between heaven and hell We are the kings We are the queens We are the kings We are the queens

I was going through a lot at 13 and my I had no dad and my mom wasnt around like she was suppose to be, but in 2011 my brother use to let me listen to his music he would download and this was a song that helped me feel free when I always felt trapped at such a young age to be left my your mom. I thank my brother all the time for allowing me to find this song, in a way it helped me know I was going to be alright and make it.

The power of unity in this song is jaw-dropping, all-encompassing and extraordinary. The man blowing the fireball perfectly encapsulates this song tenfold.

I don't listen to this band. In fact, I know nothing about them. But every time I see this video on whatever music channel I happen to be watching, I get an immense sense of both nostalgia and pride - which makes me wonder if I was a 30 Seconds To Mars fan in a past life, or something. Anyway, I love this song, it's great. I would have loved to have been one of the people on those bikes, haha!

If you're listening to this song in 2020 it hits different. So moving. I got tears in my eyes when that last chorus came and Leto just screamed to us that we're kings and queens. TIME TO TAKE BACK OUR LIVES PEOPLE!
