In the fangame Pokémon: Close Combat, which is made in the 2d Fighter Maker engine, both players may act simultaneously or independently of each other at any second, pressing buttons to take action with their fighting type Pokémon, chosen from 16 different Pokémon. This is superior to Pokémon Showdown, where you can only act in simultaneous turns. The game only features fighting type Pokémon, because that is the most honest type.

The Aerodactyl was probably a Pressure Toxic stall set that runs Flamethrower/Toxic/Substitute/Protect. The idea is that since there's not any poison types in OU (other than Gengar) and Aerodactyl is faster than the entire meta, Aerodactyl can do some Vicune-esque things that allow it to beat most mons in a 1v1, especially with leftovers allowing it to heal its substitutes. Flamethrower is used over Rock Slide because while rock slide does more damage to Skarmory particularly, Flamethrower secures much higher damage on alternate steel types such as Steelix and Forretress. Ultimately, it's a gimmicky yet potent set that can completely run the game over if the opponent doesn't have the tools to deal with it.

in the second battle (against zapdos & raikou), maybe the opponent stayed in on your tar because they really wanted the chip to enable raikou late-game. So rock slide would have been a fair choice there despite the metagross on your opponent's side
