It's interesting how, in English, "shirk' is a word unto itself, too, and it means, more or less, "to turn away from" or "to disregard." Someone shirks their duties, that kind of thing. I wonder if it came from the Arabic? There are a smattering of words in English that did not come from the Indo-European language families, and that might be one of them. I'm curious about something, please: what religion did the Prophet (peace be upon him) practice before he received his first sign? And was he ever tempted by Satan?

I heard one time that he (and other people in Makkah back then) following the religion of Ibrahim as. (Just like us, the muslim right now. The Islam religion) The different was people (or at least the majority) back then not worshipping Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala alone. And no, the prophet SAW was never tempted because he was being protected since he was born. His heart was being purified once when he was born and second when Isra miraj. (I could be wrong, do your own research. But I remember it's purified more than once) Allahualam.

@@SunaKo271 , thank you! I'm not a Muslim, but I'm developing a lot of respect for the Prophet (peace be upon him) as a person as I watch more stuff about the religion. Anyone who looks after people who can't look after themselves is automatically better for it, if you ask me, an he did A LOT of that. And taught other people to do it, too, which is why I don't get the anti-Muslim hate. Oh, I'm sorry: a religion that advances the fair treatment and equality of all? @ActiveAdvocate1 may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala guide you to the right path. Oh, then I will explain it a little more. Back then (before prophet Muhammad peace be upon him became a prophet). People in Makkah worship Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala along with 2 idols (statues, something like that) and called them the Allah's children. And the prophet not agree with that. That's why he went to the cave and ask God to guide him to the right path. And that's the first time he met Jibril AS and ask to read (Al Alaq:1). The more you learn and studying Islam the more you will love it. Even me who was born as Muslim, I also keep studying more and love the prophet Muhammad (Shalallahu alaihi wassalam) more and more.

@@SunaKo271 , I knew about the idols--let's not call them gods, since they were made by human hands--but either I didn't know, or I forgot, that the jahils also worshipped the One God. They said the STATUES were God's children, though? Um, why? They made the things with their own hands. Isn't that the same as me drawing a picture of a baby and saying, "Look, I have a daughter now"? Or am I oversimplifying this? Also, I do know the word "jahil", ignorant, from studying about Islam in university. The time in Arabia before Islam was (I can't spell it) "Jahiliyya," right? The age of ignorance, or time of ignorance? If I'm spelling ANY of that right; I don't speak Arabic.

I think like if you treat bad a your friend and other people you pay them with your good deeds and if you associate partner with Allah and Allah Will now forgive those people only if they dont repent. Be carefull Brother about saying"i cant live without him" "he Is my life" its Dangerous.
