yeah the mod008 is more pop/clack sound profile. I don't think the aluminum base is heavy enough for a more thock sound, even with the PC plate the sound is just poppy.

I have built an Akko MOD007v2 before. In my opinion and my observation, the MOD007v2 and MOD008 are similar in sound profile. With all the foam installed, they are more silent than other keyboards. If someone want a near silent keyboard without using any silent switches, I would recommend one of these.

i did an overkill on silent keyboard for mod007v2. boba u4s, all foam, even topside plate foam, and silicone gasket when between switch's top and bottom case. even poron on top of every switch to minize keycap clack.

can you please share the dimensions for akko mod 008 the width and height of the case. height should be minus the keycaps height. I needed to buy a wrist rest and my 008 is in transit and will take time. akkos website does not mention the dimensions at least I was not able to find it. I need to buy the wrist rest in the mean time.

hi i bought the board a while ago and the screws holding the pcb to the plate was too tight for me to remove and i ended up stripping a bit of the screws should I ask someone to help me build it for me instead?

I'm wondering how to make this board a bit less muted. I want a louder deeper thocc. As of now I'm using the polycarbonate plate with poron gaskets, the poron/PE sheet, case foam, and I have removed the plate foam. I have a 4 layer take mod, force break mod, lubed Blue bubblegum (oil king recolors), and a generic ABS doubl shot SA profile keycaps. The switches are very smooth and silent when pressed lightly, and when pressed hard it's a deeper clack if it makes sense. All those mods did make the sound deeper. But at the end of the day the bottom out sound is still a clack of pressed hard, silent if pressed lightly. What do I do?

You could try experimenting without the plate foam and/or Poron sheet, as that will make the board less muted, but could introduce some more negative sound qualities. Let me know how it goes!

i honostly prefer north facing leds i think most people buying cherry profile keycaps don't even have shine through keycaps

It’s less for shine through keycaps and moreso due to switch interference with Cherry Profile keycaps in North Facing PCBs

I just got this and the screw are awfully tight. How did dadboards remove it?

not too sure, all i know is that it took around 20 minutes and the screw had to be thrown away after because it was ruined

I bought the Mod 008 and while I love the board I'll admit I'm a little disappointed with the color. Mine is a very light silver color, just a shade darker than Glorious' "White Ice" color and not the deeper grey that yours seems to be. Did Akko pull a fast one and change the color, or is the lighting just making your sample look much darker?

My MOD008 looks the same in person as it does in the video. I'd recommend reaching out to Akko Support to see what's up, you might have gotten a bad copy, or they might have just silently changed the color
