I have followed Rob Dom for about 5 years now. Never in a million years did I think I would see him hitting switches on a 61 Impala hosting Top gear lol. My man figured out the algorithm to life.
Love Rob’s laughter in this vid, so genuine and authentic… which is refreshing when so many things have become so fake.

Me too even though i'm European i remember watching MTV musical clips of Tu2Pac, dr.DRE, Snoop Dogg singing in bouncing Impalas that was the first time i saw something like that and i was in shock first i thought is fake but latter when i saw other clips i only dream of the day i would ever get a chance to see such vehicles up close not even mention to ride in a low-rider bouncing-mobile..

Yup Rob would introduce Top Gear to lowriders! ❤️😍

I've wanted a lowrider, an Impala inparticular, since I was in middle school in the late-ish 80's. I'm 50 and still want one. I've gotta start playin Powerball...smh. One day....

Love some low rider action, I hope I can see some hoppin' around someday. Not many out in the Midwest.

This is the part of me that wants a low rider... the "mustang fanboy" as a child and "miata is the answer" now guy I am still fascinated by low riders.
What I love about these cars is..how solid,clean,detail & cool!😍😍😍

I don't understand it, but I can respect it.

The story I read long ago follows his history but started with a Kustom corvette in the 60's scene that was too low, so the guy added hydraulic cylinders to trick the cops. I think it was back around the early Barris and Winfield car period.
This show will be way more interesting if James May hosts it... 😎

Unforgettable and proper cool. I want to know more, how strong the chassis and suspension set-ups, do engine mounts need reinforcing, whats involved in dialling in geo, is metal fatigue an issue etc etc ???
@ctdieselnut Жыл бұрын
I don't know much about these things, but this car in particular has a reinforced rear axle, I think it's called 'bridged'. You can see it in the vid a couple times, and of course, its chromed lol. I bet it's just finding the weakest link by hopping it till it breaks, and then fixing it over and over.
@LiverpoolTX Жыл бұрын
Typically all Lowriders that leave the ground should in theory have a reinforced frame. Some try to get by with just stress points but a full frame wrap is recommended. 3/16” steel on all four sides of nearly every part of the frame. Some go to 1/4” for hoppers. The hopper world I don’t know too much about though.

I’d choose one of these over a Ferrari or Lamborghini any day
American Lowriders during the 1990's were being exported to Japan for something like $100k to upwards of a Million dollars. And if you know how much it costs to own a regular japanese size vehicle there just imagine how much it costs to own a full sized classic American car like the Chevrolet Impala from the 1960's!
@mr.hernandezdrives Жыл бұрын
mann i laughed so damn hard watching this. great look
i like original too...but if they find a value in it and restore the car... the looks of a classic but a touch of what the owner vision for it...i dont have any complain...i hate purist..honestly...if they do it pure thtat there choice..but do go barking at others project...respect each otherr
They could not find a white(r) caker for this review if they tried.
@5MGE Жыл бұрын
you’re stupid and racist, go figure! 😂 did you know there’s been a huge scene of people in japan and all over the world that love and build low riders themselves for decades now at this point? no, you clearly didn’t… 😂🤡
