Buy the Saab. I had a 900 turbo convertible 20 yrs ago. Kept it 2 yrs and loved it. The day we sold it we drove to the buyer and almost turned around. We needed the money. I wish I had turned around. Loved that car.

Friend had a 900i and they sold it for a BMW 3 series. They were the original owner of the SAAB. They sold the BMW within 6 months and moved into an older Mercedes 280SEL. I think they regretted selling the SAAB as you did.

@@stevenhinds4907 Against SUV's, yes but not against cars. I think it's about the same size as my Kia. The Kia might be a bit wider. I think the large SUV's are at the end of their life as people seem to be moving to small to mid SUV's like the Outlander, Venue, Kona, T-Roc.

Buy the Saab, its an interesting car. The engine is mounted backwards cause Saab engineers back in the day wanted the car to be smoother/better balance, downside to this its a bit cramped to change the belt and alternator but the clutch is said to be at the front of the engine so changing a clutch is really easy. I used to have a 1992 Saab 900 and it felt really well balanced in corners what I can remember, I have had newer Saabs but they dont drive/feel the same way as the old 900.

Very sought after but the automatic lets this one down. Well worth doing a light restoration but I'd be concerned with this one not running and Randy didn't try turning it over to see if it's locked. Hard to find a 900 Turbo of this era for under $20k for a good one. Plenty of the later GM ones but not many true SAAB ones.

Haven’t been watching your channel for YEARS but I clicked immediately when I saw the saab. I believe that rockauto has a lot of parts still for the saab and parts are not a big problem at least here in Northern Europe. Some specific stuff might be hard to find but turbo models aren’t really that much harder to find parts compared to n/a models. Pretty easy cars to work on also. You should definitely save the Saab!

After everything you've been through lately a Saab may be one of the easier adventures youve taken on. Lol I personally like the gm era saabs more because parts are more plentiful but a classic 900 like that or a 9000 aero are what the purists prefer.

Also Randy bring a can of carburetor cleaner with you put it in your bag. If any of them wasps come at you can spray them with carb cleaner. You can also spray their nest and they drop instantly dead and then it evaporates it doesn't leave any residue and it's way cheaper than wasp killer?

Hey Randy I remember back in 88 when those cars came out they were very popular in California where I lived at the time they were like a status symbol if you have one of them Saab's? My dad's best friend he was an attorney and he bought one of the Saab 9000 turbos? That was their top of the line. That's the one you like to get if you could find one of those? But the Saab was very popular back in the day he used to drive a Pontiac Bonneville a 77 two-door before he bought at 85 Volkswagen rabbit GTI I think that's what it was called the sporty one that everybody wants today and they're worth a lot of money and then he traded that in for the Saab 9000 in 1988 it was just funny to see him go from a big Bonneville to a Volkswagen rabbit LOL

My step dad was always having to fix things on it and it was expensive, but it was my favorite car my parents had while I was growing up. This one being automatic, I would leave it. Its probably too expensive to fix anyway.

I had a 900 non turbo many years ago. These are from the proper SAAB era, really well built in Sweden. That mileage is not a lot for one of those. They are getting collectible in the U.K. now and the prices have gone up. Only problem I ever had with mine was split CV boots and a new clutch around 90k. I wouldn’t be surprised if it started with not much fettling, these things are tanks. Get it!

It’s a very easy check! Switch the plug wire and see if the misfire moved! If it did then it needs an ignition coil plug. If not then replace spark plug and if those don’t take care of the misfire then it’s more serious. But that’s the cheapest and most easiest way to free check diagnoses
