So fun fact on the claw machine talk for anyone who doesn’t know it, claw machines, and most arcade games that can win you items and/or tickets, work off a payout system, once enough money has been put into them across all its plays (so if the payout is set to 500, and 5 people each put in 100, it doesnt need to be all by one person or even all in the same period of time) then the claw machine or arcade game will allow the next player who was supposed to win to actually win, then reset the payout, and if you would normally win and it doesnt hit payout, the game will purposely make you lose, claw machines will have less power diverted to their claws, and in terms of games like key master, the key will stop slightly too early or late everytime as to not get into the keyhole
@Grane1234

@Kaiimei

"The only way to win is to not play" really fits when it comes to any payout machine. You either not play at all, or not play, until you've figured out the payout pattern.
@Ziobbe
@Ziobbe 2 ай бұрын
And those games where you have to time it (Stackem and the spinning lights) will delay correctly timed inputs so that if you hit it right, it waits a moment and lights up the next one. Someone made a machine that perfectly times the spinning lights each time and it couldn't win sometimes because the game cheated.

This game can be safely summed up as the "William Dafoe looking up" meme. You beat Ymir's Shadow. Congratulations, you just climbed the tallest mountain! Outside of the northern range. You reach the Great Bulwark, *four times as tall* as Ymir's Shadow. *Cue William Dafoe looking up in fear* Then you climb The Great Bulwark. It's hard, as it introduces the ice picks and is lathered with obstacles, but you make it. Then you reach the Solemn Tempest, *three times as tall* as the Great Bulwark, and ten times harder. *Cue William Dafoe's spine giving out from looking up so much* You get near the end. You're almost at 6000m and the summit is literally in sight. Just one last long section of ridiculously hard jumps, each of which make the entire bouldering roster look piss-easy. *Cue William Dafoe in hospital with devastating spinal injuries* Then for some FUCKING REASON YOU GET LAUNCHED INTO FUCKING SPACE WHILE DISCONNECTED FROM *A FUCKING ROPE NO I'M NOT ANGRY!* *Cue William Dafoe looking up in fear once more as he falls 6000m and blacks out* Based on a true story. I've literally free solo'd all of the courses except the northern range ones, and I still haven't beaten the Solemn Tempest with the safety harness on.

20:00 I don't know Canadian traffic laws, but here in the U.S., if you're turning right, you sort of treat the red light like a stop sign. If nobody's coming in the lane you're turning into, go ahead and turn, otherwise wait. We have signs at specific stop lights that say "Don't turn right on red" which signals that right turns on red at that light are illegal.

In Australia (we're on the left and the signs say left, but I'll convert to the right for ease of reading), at traffic lights, we often have specific little slip lanes where it says "Turn right at any time with care". Usually they have zebra crossings/crosswalks on the lanes, then a give way point before you enter the next road.

"treat the red light like a stop sign"- isn't that what you're supposed to do anyways, lol?
@midnight4685
@midnight4685 Ай бұрын
@@lukemimnagh2594 Well, not exactly, because at a stop sign, you can go if there's no traffic/danger/obstacle. At a red light, you cannot go under any normal circumstance. The only real exception is this specific scenario, where you are allowed to disobey the red light and go if it is safe to do so. That's why it's treating it like a stop sign and not treating it like a red light.

They told me they were evacuating back in November or something and it sounds like they've been evacuated for the entire time and just constantly in a loop of thinking they'll get to go home and then being told they can't. They were one of the ones that was lucky enough to have family outside of the town but like, schooling has been difficult and there's still the looming threat that their house will just be gone one of these days. It was especially bad around Christmas. I really hope everyone from there will be alright.

I used safety harness on Tempest, which is much MUCH slower than not using ropes, but with the benefit of (having a much greater chance of) not falling off. It legit took me 10+ hours to climb the whole thing, i fell a couple of times causing me to lose a lot of progress too. Looking back, i have absolutely no idea where i pulled out the sanity to do this, specially considering I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE EVERY UPGRADE and it's a miracle i haven't missed jumps where your rope is too short, and that i haven't ran out of ropes at the end due to horizontal sections where you can't get back your ropes

I was actually complimented by a very surprised fellow when I pronounced his name correctly, and he said, with some sadness, that most people don't even try, with most people opting to call him Mr. LastName because it was more familiar. I even received a pronunciation lesson from a gentleman in Canada, because I _asked_ how to pronounce his name. I got close, but I just couldn't get that French-Canadian accent! Roundabouts are very common in Europe, because they are usually safer than normal intersections. And it makes traffic flow better since you don't have to wait at a red light despite the road being clear. And as far as I know you are allowed to rurn right on red lights in Germany IF there's a sign with a green arrow to the right on the traffic light.

Yes lava + magma cools into diffrent things based on time, pressure and its composition. The mountain before this one. The hexagonal one, is made of basalt witch is an ignious rock that forms with rapid cooling basaltic magma or lavaflows! :D The mountain was likely inspired by Devils Tower in Wyoming USA. The exact forming with how its sticking out the ground is still debated today. Their is plenty of cool basalt rock formations arround the world. :D

I don't even know how this works, but the algorithm has blessed me with your video after having been in iceland about a month ago myself! Tides was absolutely the best food I've had so far and I hope more people are able to go there as it was really magical! I never went to the Phallus museum, but I went to the Árbær: open air musuem; absolutely have to go back again. Good job climbing that mountain btw, and a nice, refreshing take on streaming with how calm but enjoyable you were while telling a story during it.

Hey Spiff fun fact - in Kazakhstan(where I am from) we also have 3 colored traffic lights, but it goes a little in the opposite way: after green there is yellow that alerts that in a few seconds there will be red. Also loving ur vids!

I was in Japan last summer, and I decided it'd be fun to use a claw machine. I can up with a strategy of using the expansion of the claw to push the box off the platform instead of trying to pick it up. I didn't know this until later but they put a small ring at the bottom to try to prevent you from doing this. After ~a dozen tries (like $8 of tries) I was about to give up and then some other American in this arcade just walks by a smacks the machine and the box comes tumbling down. That man is my hero.

Every time Spiff says roundabout like rundabout it makes me die a little on my British heart. But a multilane roundabout does have lane changes built into them, if you're going out on the second or third exit then you'd be on the inside lane, once the outside lane exits you then merge into the outside lane by following the lines. That's the basic idea as far as I know but I've only been an observer as I don't drive.

hi spiff hope you see or learn of this, giant roundabouts usually have road signs saying which lanes go where before it, then watch the road markings and follow that lane and you should get off in the right part. they're not as scary as they look just gotta pay attention and follow the lane
