Hey Sam the only thing I noticed was a few concrete piers didn't exactly lineup with metal studs but looks beautiful and structuraly sound great job☺️👍

I'm thinking the pier needed to be moved over a little almost didn't have enough room to screw on the base but hey it's all good it worked and both you'll did a great job.

Looks like on one side the piers were too far off center. Hopefully what ever type of concrete fasteners were used are not too close to,the edge.

I have one same size on a 6inch slab with walls. Has a roll up shop door on one end and a metal standard door and a window. I did the slab. They came out and had mine up in 10hrs. They always bring extra material in case something messes up. I ended up with enough spare square tubing and metal to make a lean to off one side big enough to put my 20ft center console boat under. It is truly amazing how quick they can put these things up!

We have these type buildings here to stack hay rolls under. You can buy a large roll up canvas etc side for them. Open when you want it. Drop when some shade or wind blockage needed.

He said in the first video discussing it that they are planning on enclosing the three sides making it into an enclosed carport. As long as he doesn't close the fourth side making it a garage it'll still show as a carport on insurance.

Only thing I can figure you're talking about at the end is the where the base mounted on the piers? I was also going to ask if you're planning on any guttering around any of your outbuildings? With as much roof space as you guys have around there now, you could do some major rainwater harvesting if you wanted...

What I noticed, and thought right away, oh no, they are putting the roof pieces on wrong side up! Then I thought when you showed a shot from above, I decided you had that done to match your other roof colors. My husband and I have made two smaller units similar to this, and let me tell you, those arches are heavy, and the whole thing is a lot of hard work, and there were holes where we missed screwing the roof and side on.

We had 2 0f these buildings put up. 28x40.. bought one from Florida based and one from Texas based. 2 guys showed up. One of them was the same for both buildings. He claimed that all the companies that sell these buildings are all under 1. Even though the prices were different. We were in Oregon and this guy lived in Oregon but traveled all over. It still only took 1 day for one of the buildings and on the 2nd one, he was sick so 1 guy put up the entire building in 2 days by himself while Ramondo (the boss) was in the pickup sick. Was so awesome watching them work. He literally carried 20’ pieces of roofing up by himself and walked around on the roof installing it.

Absolutely great crew and a wonderful addition to your homestead. I think that some of the piers being off centre from the frame anchors is not really a big problem for the build as it is not really going to matter as the weight of the building will keep it secured to the piers. The main thing I noticed was that the gable end trim was under the roofing sheets. This could be a big problem when the winds pick up as this could cause uplift on the end of the sheets and rip it off. Great partnership between you both and always a treat when a notification that Green Acre Homestead has posted pops up. Well done on the great work and wonderful vlogs.

Although the piers all fall relatively in line with the sill plates, the vertical supports themselves don't land well on their corresponding piers. Spacing must have been different than calculated. Will you need a load of gravel at the end where it looks like just dirt? Are you planning on adding metal sides, at least half way down from the top? The roof seems far from the ground so driving rain would blow in at least half way across where your tractor is parked. Do you have a plan for storage above the vehicles? Maybe it is just the video but there seems to be a great deal of space under the roof. Looks good and nice to have you equipment under a roof and out of most of the weather.

I’m sure there are options you could add from the company that put this up. I saw Lowe’s has some roof panels that are textured that might provide some sound deadening from rain. It will be interesting to see how you dress it up. Excellent drone footage and music selection.

My folks also have a 20 x 40 building like this though it is only about 9- 10 feet tall. They are 91 years old and love sitting in it watching the cars on the road. I just put 1/8 aircraft cable around the sides and put tarps with zipties on the north and west sides to block the wind. It should give them another month of use here in Ohio. It is a great shelter for the family reunions as you can easilly put two long rows of tables inside. I think when they put it up about 10 years ago it cost them about $1500. You probably could not touch for twice that amount now. But they have really gotten the use out of it.

Ridge cap trim needs to be trimed and extra horizontal supports for wall supports. A few of the piers was off center but really doesn't affect strength and stability of structure, it would just make you feel better to be on center. May want to enclose sides someday, looks good.

Sam, we have a carport like that and we had problems with birds making nests under the roof. You might have to put some metal netting like chicken wire on the rafters. Also, we installed plastic caps on the openings of the tubing (four bottoms) to keep critters and bugs from crawling inside and to keep rain out.

I know hindsight is 20/20 and I don't know how big your wallet is, but I would have dug a small footer, used the dirt from the footers to fill in some and level the inside of the shed. The last concrete i bought with fiber reinforcement was around $114 a yard. It takes 45 80# bags of concrete @ $5.08 a bag to make a yard. I think you would come out ahead getting it delivered if yo have a plant near by. Then alter on you could wall it in and not have those large gaps between the columns to deal with.
