@F1IGHTB0Y2 жыл бұрын
You can certainly hear the difference in tone, however I think it’s a remarkable flute, especially for a new flute player who is just starting out. They do not need a an overly expensive, complicated mixed metal flute. What a bargain!!!!! Love your videos, they have been a dream since I picked the flute back up after around 8 years I stopped playing.
@peterhaerens30142 жыл бұрын
Articulation seems clearer on the Yamaha and also a bigger dynamic range than first instrument. The Sankyo has most centered tone of all. Easy in 3rd octave 'p' and 'pp' Scales are more equal and clearest articulation of all the proposed instruments.

I'd be interested to get a tech's perspective from a durability standpoint.I also wonder if the pads/cork and such would be interchangeable with those of regular flutes. Also, I wonder if you could put a better quality head joint on it (for an advancing player)

My colleague is a technician, he relayed to me a bit about it and was quite shocked on the build quality. I would also like to try with other headjoints in the future. Got something special planned!

I have this flute, but the 199 nickel plated one. I feel the high registers are very difficult to play. And the Eb key on my flute is very hard to press. I don’t know if it’s a problem for this one only. But in terms of price, it’s very good for the configuration. I wonder if I should return it? Or exchange for a higher end one?

Major problem here. My cat, Molly, hates the flute. She gets up and leaves the room every time I practice. But when I go into the practice room, she is usually there, curled up in her little kitty bed, blissfully snoozing. This is seriously cutting into my practice time. What can I do?
@FabriceBLR4 жыл бұрын
You need to practise more :-) They tend to dislike when we play out of time or too loud. (With 33 years of playing and 4 cats involved). However, when you reach the 3rd octave with high A, very difficult not to make them flee away :-)
@Tubluer4 жыл бұрын
@@FabriceBLR I knew they disliked loud stuff, but that cats are sensitive to bad timing is a revelation. I don't suppose I could buy an itty bitty flute and teach Molly to play. Could I?
@FabriceBLR4 жыл бұрын
@@Tubluer when I play out of tune, even in the low/medium register, my cat run away pretty quickly (that's a not so nice way to make her run...) whereas when I play "ok-ish" and not too high/loud, she stays the whole afternoon in the room sleeping. Even with intense scales/arpeggios training. The same for the others :-)

I can hear a difference and I'm certain as a professional, you can feel the difference. I played for over 30 years until I had to sell my baby to support my real babies... and I just can't bring myself to buy one I can afford as I know it just won't satisfy me. Am i wrong for this? Maybe playing a cheap one would be better than nothing??

@Tubluer4 жыл бұрын
I also have a "crappy Selmer", but I have the incredible good fortune to have a friend who happens to be a concert soloist. One day he borrowed it and showed me what the instrument is capable of. The upshot was that if you are second desk flute, you could use the Selmer in a professional performance and no one in the audience would notice the difference. The main difference was that you can't blow the windows out the way you can with the high end instruments. The tone is excellent, it's easy to play, but really fast repertoire might be harder to do. I love it to bits. I'm going to have a better flute than I can play for years.
