I have a few German and Japanese pens inked up right now, but I also have two Majohn P136s on the table, as well, because they work so well and are cheap enough that I don't feel self-conscious taking them out with me. The P136 is very handsome, feels good in the hand, and writes very nicely. I am thoroughly impressed.

I have this pen and a real 146. Interesting point - the P136 and MontBlank CAPS are interchangeable. Each screws onto the other pen just fine. The MontBlanc cap WILL post on the P136, but not vice versa. So the issue si the cap. I like the overall feel of the MB better but my P136 is s stub nib..and honestly.. it writes so well.. for doing a signature..great big fat line and the line thickness varies as you sign… for $30 on Amazon it’s a killer pen.

There is no question that the 136 is a great pen. Personally I still think the Wing Sung 629 is better than the 136 but it is a close call as I have both pens. I appreciate the wrench for the 136. But the wrench for the 629 can be used for other Wing Sung pens. You cannot say the same for the wrench of the 136. I do not think comparing these pens with the X159 is correct. The MB146 comparison is appropriate. Is the 136 worthy? Yes, especially at their price point.

I have 2 of them. The piston of one of them broke after six or eight refills. I didn’t use the other one much but I’m afraid that it will break too. Aliexpress gave me a refund on the one whose piston broke. The pen is great. Too bad the piston in cheap plastic.

I really, really like those Jinhao #8 nibs. The #6 nibs work very well but they're boring. I usually swap them. The #5 nibs? Gone usually before I ink the pen for the first time. I really dislike them. This pen might not be for me. I have to post. It's an OCD thing. I will adjust my grip to deal with a cap that back-weights the pen. I have the new Jinhao 9019 too and it probably won't get used as much as my X159 because it doesn't post securely. I do love that huge converter though.

Can you tell me where you purchased this pen? And is the Jowo nib offered in Broad? One more question: is replacing the original nib with the Jowo easy? Thanks.

Mine didn't come with a tool. I much prefer it to the x159, esp since it takes fewer turns to uncap .. the x159 takes at least 2 1/2 turns, too much for my quick note taking. I also like the standard nib on the P136 better than on the x159

You don't really need the wrench except for a very deep maintenance like applying silicon grease to the piston. The nib unit unscrews easily so you can deep clean the innards of the pen.

You eluded to it but how does the plastic feel compared to the 146? My biggest gripe with the x159 is the plastic feels terrible.

Definitely it's a lot more solid than the x159 and closer to the 146. My P136 is more polished than the 146, kinda like a piano finish.
