Let me know what you think about all in one boards. I think it’s a really neat concept but a bit too extreme for me.

Just FYI, the amount of thumb movement required for this keyboard, while having your palms facing down, is basically guaranteed to give you RSI with prolonged use. There’s exceedingly things you can do with your hands that will cause RSI more easily. In short, this keyboard setup is ergonomic in looks only, nothing else.

If this has choc keys and a trackball instead of a right hand mouse it would be an instant buy for me. I'm even going to contact them probably, very exciting stuff!

trackball is in the works, was taken out from previous versions, but still expected for later versions

Hi! I've been working with the guy for a bit of time now so I think I can show some light here. Firstly, all you saw here, that was the work of only one person, everything? So of course some stuff like the firmware need work to be more user-friendly. Secondly, and that's what i'm litterally currently working on, we're working on a pcb make-over, as well as a true hot-swap system for the modules. For me the main appeal is gaming (my modded skyrim needs a damn big load of hotkeys) and also anything shorcut related, like 3D modeling, stuff like that. I cannot say too much 'cause most of the up-comming changes are "would be cool if..." or "business-wise, maybe we should do this...". Please excuse any syntax error, i'm french x)

This is sick, thanks for the showcase. Love the overarching idea of it all, whole computer body inputs is a neat idea. I think I will give it a go printing and building this in the future.

I think that’s the way to go with this board. Buy the PCBs from them and then print the rest on your own.

Please consider waiting a few more months. Hopefully we'll have custom PCBs and hotswap working by this time. :)

It looks interesting, but you really have to do your research before investing. It's great, that they allow to swap modules, because, I suspect, I might've fall into the same "shiny thing" trap as you did. I did a lot of research before getting my first split and got a Glove80, which I absolutely love and use it with great pleasure. But 80 keys is a lot! I never use F and number rows, instead I have a second layer with all I need in it. I'm only using 53 keys, effectively utilizing 66.25% of the keyboard. But with its ergonomics - I'm totally fine with it. As a second, more versatile option, I'm thinking about Totem. Are you planning on trying it out?

I think theres fundamental issues with what market theyre trying to grab. Like i see no reason why a person who cares about ergonimics would want a gyroscope. Literally carrying the thing youre typing on to make use of it? Also the mouse sensor under the keyboard is such a cool idea but if you wanted an ergonomic setup, you would want the keyboard to have concavity, which limits how you can move the keyboard unlike a mouse which has to be convex so you can grab onto it. Lots of cool ideas, but i would not even use if it was gifted to me unfortunately, seems not fun to type on at all. I want mechanical keys and issues with sticking are the nail in the coffin for me. I love the joystick ideas and lots of good potential here in terms of ideas.

Please note that this version is designed to be as DIY as possible, I can confirm that the buttons/keycaps are sometimes bothersome, and the issue will be looked at, but for now that's not the priority. Also (again sorry i'm french and a bit dumb) i don't understand your point about the concavity. But if i understood you correctly, i can tell you that there is a slightly concave shape indeed, where your abductor digiti minimi sits (yes i searched the muscle's name, rather than a giving janky explaination). And from my experience with it, you actually have a really good grasp on it while moving it :)

I don't think they made the Engram layout. It is a statically sound layout made by Arno Klein in 2021.

I'm currently building a trinidox (sibling to the tractyl I think), switching from a 36-key corne and trackball. It feels absolutly amazing. Don't get why people still use ANSI layout. (exceptions, like people that have to use different machines all the time obviously exist, although my corne fits in my back pocket and would be very easy to take with me as well..)

Hey great video. This is a bit unrelated but I've been wanting to build my own handwired 'corne inspired ' split keyboard around two RP2040 microcontrollers (It's a wired build. nothhing fancy). Where can I get the wiring schematic for the RP2040 ? I'm looking to flash it with QMK , so I don't want to mess it up.

Interesting. Seems to be more of a controller as a keyboard. Would love to see something similar realized as a 3d printed attachment/case or add-on that can be slapped on to the bottom half of a keyboard just for the mouse sensor. Or a case/attachment that can attach/hold an existing mouse to use for the sensor. I think I'd be more okay with a good keyboard with a janky mouse solution than the opposite.

The dealbreaker here is the keyswitches they chose. If they were something like low profile mechanical buttons, laptop style buttons, even the softer style of button available on a typical Xbox controller, those would all work great. Instead, they chose very clicky buttons that sound not great and seem like the require too much force to press. It seems like the mouse half also doesn't have any sort of toggle to disable its mouse functionality while typing a long thing, it seems like an easy fix, either map it to a button/layer/shortcut, or have a heuristic that turns the mouse off if it's not moving very much and a lot of text is coming out. Obviously, early beta product is going to have some issues that need ironing out, but this is very much a series of odd, difficult to justify choices. That said, I'd love to play around with something approximately like this. The ideal would be some low-profile keyboard up top and a Razer Naga style microswitch numpad on the sides. The Naga uses what appears to be very similar to a 90s cellphone keyboard, with metal domes rather than membrane keys, and contoured buttons rather than contoured switches, so it seems feasable in terms of price and engineering. It's possible the tolerances are too tight for 3D printing, but the rest of the Lynx seems to be pretty dialed in, so I think it's doable.

The buttons themselves aren’t hard to press, they’re actually mouse buttons and have very light actuation force. By using those, they could make the board smaller in terms of key placement and size. I agree being able to disable the mouse half would be nice. I think you can if you use the layer system in the software but I’m not sure if there is a button to toggle it.

This reminds me a little bit of this ancient Kickstarter that had a lot of hype and made a bunch of money but never actually manufactured anything so far as I remember, something called the King's Assembly The gyroscope function might be really useful for 3D work that you'd normally use a Spaceball for

From talking with the creator, the goal is to get it working in 3D programs one day but they didn’t give a timeline.
