Those wires loose are a very rare find. Unless they've been previously removed I'd inspect the rest of the harness. A code dump would've found the problem quickly. Don't trust the factory tach. Usually off by a couple of hundred RPM. Get an advance timing light with a digital rpm readout. Thank me later. Also go over the grounds. It's always the first thing I do to a mustang that's been "touched". Keep it up my man 💪👌👊 great videos!

dial back timing lights sux. As simple as they should be, even expensive ones seem to be way off. Mark your damper with a tape etc. read directly.

When doing a base idle reset you need to unplug the IAC, spout and tps. The reason for unplugging all of them is the ecu will still control the idle with any of those plugged up. Also fuel pressure needs to be 38-40 with the vaccum to the regulator unhooked when using stock or Ford racing injectors. And that bypass hose they had going from the air tube to the intake was a huge issue. But hopefully you got the wiring issues straightened out

I can't count how many cars I have bought with "347 stroker engine's." Unless you have receipts or pictures I would never take it as truth. I had a 342 with iron Sr. heads but, I would say a stroker with stock 302 heads is unlikely, even the gt40 heads. But, you never know.

Someone made a plate that goes in between iac and throttle body. You can find them on KZbin it's for a 347 stroker I can't remember the name because I need one! It has two adjustable screws I believe American muscle. Hope it helps. Sorry!🤔
Maurice Battle My 89 has that plate don't know the make of it but I have a pretty radical cam and a good smooth non rolling idle even with AC on .

Hey Man I had same exact issue with my e cam car. The car already had the iac adjuster on it. I adjusted on that and now it doesn’t stall when I’m using my ac in Atlanta heat!
