I like your flying. I like your attitude. I see in the comments that foam 2 foam is maybe not the best solution for a hinge. But it seemed to work.

After crashing many EDFs and Warbirds, I picked this up as a warm up/trainer plane no gyro at all. Nothing but success every time. Like you said, it's so slow, you have time to catch any errors you may make. Just fly comfortably high to not smash the ground. I talked about this plane for so long, if I have flown this plane early in my hobby career would have saved the lives of many other planes. Thanks for the upload and the glue tip.

One of my favorite planes. Have PNP version, no gyro, not needed, thing flies awesome. I like this vid and your flying, cool channel, thanks.

Nice video with great filming quality and thanks for sharing how the hinge was fixed. How much expo you have with the 100% rates ?
@Jays_rcgarage2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching 😎 Manual calls for 30% on high rates… I believe I have mine at 20%
@vermrc25112 жыл бұрын
I’m at 37% on all on 100% rates flys much smoother than 30%

@@Jays_rcgarage a Umx turbo timber.. I can fly it without the gyro! But my second plane I will be flying with the as3x

I found that the Foam 2 Foam glue is too brittle/hard for hinges once it is cured.

Anybody by any chance know what motor it is?

BAD part about foamboard is, 1 part of the 'paper' is cut away, & the paper 'hinges' don't last. Especially having 50% or more rates, doing 3d. I've been moving my CG back. It's close. Find out today 🤞! Also, I subbed sir!
@Jays_rcgarage Жыл бұрын
Yeah! I found that out .. ended up gluing all the hinges and so far so good. Slowly working my way to mostly balsa lol! Thanks for the sub 😎

It's best to set up 3 different rates for 3D flying. 100%, 80%, and 60% to help keep the different maneuvers clean. Lots of Expo is your friend. Even Jase Dussia uses lots of expo. There are RC communists who will tell you that expo, rates, and gyros are for beginners but you watch them fly and it looks like they had too much coffee and a crackhead sandwich. a guy named Toolbagger that comments everywhere is one of those Nazis. Though I think he is a professional NYC Flying Rat watcher. Lol.

SAFE would have saved you. Also, blendurem tape would’ve had you back and flying in under five minutes.
@Jays_rcgarage2 жыл бұрын
Definitely, but with this plane I’m worried about the weight. Because it’s 3D I would have needed to tape the entire hinge top and bottom. The small amount of glue added basically no weight !

$480 were im from
@matejbludsky84102 жыл бұрын
That price tag though 🤦♂️🤪 this should be more like $100 .. flat foam is super easy to make and the electronics are literally worth maybe $30 at most .. spektrum tech Is super old and overpriced and not performing.. who would buy this 🤪
@Jays_rcgarage2 жыл бұрын
I’ll partially agree. I think ALL of Horizon hobby’s stuff is over priced. But if their selection this is definitely the best 3D plane for the money
@matejbludsky84102 жыл бұрын
@@Jays_rcgarage there are better planes for much cheaper on Banggood .. all horizon stuff is from china anyways .. they are literally only running because of old farts don't know better and can't use computer

You have a point which is why I intend to simply copy the foam pattern/dimensions of the Eratix and cut a bunch out of my own foam board with cnc router..
