Today, we’re exploring what was at one time, the most expensive mansion in all of Canada. Listed at nearly $40,000,000, this now vacant mansion comes with its own built in entirely self-sufficient emergency bunker. The mansion, which was built by and lived in by a real estate developer who made his fortune in Canada building suburban homes, office towers and shopping malls is a 28,000 square foot french inspired chateau with 14 washrooms, 10 bedrooms, 7 wood burning fireplaces, a 50 foot indoor pool - and did I mention the bunker? This massive mansion has been visited by prime ministers, Hollywood royalty, held extravagant parties and has been featured in several movies and television shows. Join me as I explore and guide you through this massive abandoned mansion! s0s1nc3r3 instagram.com/s0s1nc3r3/ Abandoned Brad instagram.com/abandoned_brad/ _____________________________________________________ Join my adventures! ► Patreon: www.patreon.com/Freaktography ► Instagram: instagram.com/freaktography ► Facebook: facebook.com/freaktography ► TikTok: www.tiktok.com/@freaktography ► Email: dave@freaktography.com ______________________________________________________ #abandoned #abandonedmansion #abandonedplaces

That side or wing of the mansion where the elevator was is above the kitchen. Having the narrow staircase and smaller plain rooms is obviously what would be called the house staff quarters for the maids, Butler, cooks etc. that is a classic mansion design. In the basement was also likely the gymnasium next to the sauna etc. the bunker had those air tanks and water tanks to pressurize the bunker to keep out radioactive particles etc purify the air and water it’s a very elaborate system similar to what I saw in NORADs Cheyenne mountain on a much smaller scale. Likely that pipe that went down from the small self exhausted generator room probably went to a water well system under the house which makes sense. Those were industrial washer dryers btw. Shame it’s abandoned with the right decor and landscaping it would make a beautiful place for wedding destination, fancy parties, cotillions etc.

By far my favorite abandon home ever! Refreshing to find it intact and not destroyed by vandals! Btw… the rooms and back staircase on the one side of the house you thought were plain are living quarters for the house staff. That bunker and fact people really put such effort and money thinking they needed all that to survive something catastrophic is crazy! Amazing home guys!

Hello from Ontario Canada I would certainly HOPE THAT People will be going in to strip this mansion of doors, windows' sconces' light fixtures, etc and ETC AGAIN! my word! Someone could sell these items and build a brand new home! It's a 80? Early 90s home for sure. There isn't a scratch on the walls! My dear God it's a shame it's being torn down! 😢😢😢😢 The bathroom cabinets fixtures, kitchen appliances. Please I hope a team will be going in to strip all of this!!!!????

You didn't go to the 3rd floor. It's sad to see when there are so many homeless people living in Toronto. Surprised to see all the gold plated stuff that hasn't been looted, or that there is zero graffiti and not much damage to the place.

Security has increased so much at this place.... even at 4am there was security.. so if you want to go.. get permission or you will get a ticket... security said they have zero tolerance right now.. silly kids set off fire extinguishers inside, and neighbors called.... and had lots of police there.

The 60fps is really nice for preventing motion blur in well lit areas. It makes the small details look really clear and visible. In the dim areas, those things are hard to make out anyway, so it makes sense to switch back to 30fps. Great video!!
@boasol2 жыл бұрын
Why is it abandoned? What is the backstory? You would think that with the real estate market it should be lived in and if the owner wants to keep it as an investment than probably getting a huge rental for it would be possible

There's a lot in that place that isn't finished, like the bunker for instance. The blue tanks are for drinking water, and the green tanks are for flushing water. The timer and manifold system you saw is meant to periodically flush out the tanks and refill them with fresh water. The metal pipe going down is the black and greywater disposal, and probably goes down to a lake or river. There was no supply racks, no sleeping area, and no kitchen. The ventilation system wasn't finished, so I'm guessing the previous owner bailed before it could be finished.

You people are so lucky to have walked though this place prior to it being torn down. I would have love too. I wish I knew it was abandoned prior. There is another sweet abandoned mansion in the bridle path. Actually right up the road from this place. I jumped the chain link fence this past summer. Summer cool and creepy. I didn’t make my way inside. However I’m shocked there has been no exploring it. It’s been Abandoned for many years now. Crazy thing is. It’s directly behind drakes new castle. You can see drakes backyard from the property line. People need to discover it

Hi Dave I saw this mansion a few weeks ago by another explorer but it was worth seeing again. We never saw that cool bunker. I guess the other explorer didn’t know it was there. This mansion has everything you could want and I mean everything. That indoor pool, was, way cool. All those bedrooms and all those bathrooms. All going to be destroyed. It’s an outrage. This mansion is worth $40,000.000 and it’s beautiful. Thanks Dave for the second look. Stay safe and well.

This is an astonishing house, if it is abandonned, there are multiple possibilities, like a hotel, like a center for drug addicts in need ofbeing clean, they would have to work the garden, the swimming pool and all the outside, to proove they can be rehabilitated...is only suggestion , when i see such beautiful (demeures) with an uncertain future. What you have showed us is incredible, keep up the good work

Definitely unfortunate, if this place is Slated For Demolition. Definitely a lot of history and it would be very wasteful. You forgot the Third Floor, unfortunately. In a house like this, the less public areas or servant areas, would be less fancy. I could hear an electrical hum throughout this house, I don't know if it was from the camera or if the power is on, but the breakers are shut off. Crazy how to clean the pool water was, if the power was still on the pumps could be potentially on a timer, when you were underneath the pool area, at the back by the diving board, I'm pretty sure there was a freight elevator, I recognized the doors. I remember DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration did a multi-million dollar mansion a number of years ago that was being demolished for the 407 expansion, it was a similar design and built the same way this place was.

Trompe-l'œil is the French word for wall painting...& Those were very cool....one of best in the house. I'm just curious what that disturbing semi wiped up stain in the garage was. 🤔 This is one of those houses where you could have taken it a tad slower, if you blinked, you missed it. I wonder if that round thing in the pool area was for water therapy, there WAS a seat at the bottom. The balcony area upstairs is actually a mezzanine, not a foyer!!! 😂🤣😂 You didn't go up to the 3rd floor. 😉 But you're right, there is absolutely no flow to that house.

I was wondering if you ever found out what was locked behind the painted doors. I mean if you went outside and had to guess the space/size behind the door, do you think it could have been a movie theater type setting?. Also it did have shitty flow and was poorly laid out. Any idea when the house was even built? Great find, thanks for sharing.

There's a demolition crew on the site? The house looks too well maintained to be considered "abandoned". Someone must still own the huge mansion and pay taxes on the property. I was thinking the rooms on that one side of the house (the plain rooms) might either be the house servants or the children's area. There was a toy seen later in the video. I think the mansion is too cool to be destroyed... Hopefully whoever owns the mansion changes their mind about demolishing this chateau.

The livable area of that bunker is way too small compared to the sheer scale of life support systems. Doesn’t appear to be an emergency hideout for the owner. More likely a place to stow their (likely underage) toys in case they had uninvited guests at one of their degenerate parties. If you brought the right equipment you may be able to find it was thoroughly cleaned.

These types of places always look like hotels to me. Not exactly a cozy family home. I've been in 100 year old row houses in the ports area of Toronto that have more character. I can't imagine what it would be like as a kid living in something like this. I've also been in the furnished homes of the well heeled in Toronto, and many of them have the same vibe. Ostentatious accents wrapped in an overall shitty design is what you get when you have tonnes of money and no sense of taste or style. It's no wonder this place is going to be demolished.

UBD this French Chateau we wi wi should be history marked so that it can't be knocked down. btw There were blatant attic stairs you skipped by but its ok i ve seen that floor anyway and hey a lock on the pool door and you got a round it easy . and now i can see where the False flooring was stored to place on top of the swimming pool to convert the room into a Ballroom i wonder how they hide the hydra spa during the ball? maybe thats the DJ Pit. You also missed the darken basement radio studio But that Underground bunker was a highlight and a reminder i rather be dead in the ground than be in that down right depressing bunker for the rest of my days i don't care that is just is depressing... any way perhaps that bunker drain tunnel you showed off might come back up at the Gazebo end i saw there was some sort of trap door thing going on in the Garden gazebo. But surely a Novotel or a Mercure or Canadian Government should buy to convert it into a History Showpiece im shocked, more shocking then Electrcity Substation that could power a suburb of 100 houses in the basement. thx for the tour bud
