@Dud-in9iu Жыл бұрын
When I was 14 I was 5'7" and could also dunk. I created multiple high jump records and basketball records in middle school and high school, but then got burnt out on both sports during high school. I worked hard doing a jumping program called air alert that increased my vertical from 28" when I started to 39" by the end. What happens to most topic prospects that have a promising future when they are very young is they either get burned out and quit, get injured and have to quit, or never hit a growth spurt and then it doesn't matter how high they can jump. Speaking from personal experience from my time in high school varsity basketball, despite setting the all time 3-point record for my high school (which is a record that has stood for almost 20 years in southern California school), having a 39" vertical, and great endurance (being able to run 4 miles in 20 mins), I only had one division one school interested in me. Fortunately that one school was all I needed, but the fact is no matter how good you are (skills, strength, endurance, jumping ability, etc.) it won't matter unless he grows to be minimum 6'4"; and even then it will take more than a mere 40" vert to make it to the NBA at that height. If his dream is to go to college on a full ride scholarship, he will most likely achieve that goal. However, if this video is suggesting he is on his way to the NBA b/c he can dunk at 13, you are setting this kid up for disappointment
@berg249 Жыл бұрын

There were so many kids like this, including jordan's older brother. They were really good until everyone else grew but them. I don't want to say height is the most important tool to making it in the nba but numbers show. So him making it to the nba depends on if he grows, I would say 6'7" because teams now are looking for taller players regardless if they are good or not. Scouts now see it as we can always train bad tall players while the good short ones are limited by their height. That what the scouts see.
