Nice honest review❤ One remark; seeing you fiddling with the volume knob looked like it wasn't really cranking up and down the volume much and looked like you really need to get some rotations going before the volume really makes a big change. I do understand the cases you mentioned for this, they seem valid. For me, I would just put in a second line and monitor for the student 😅 When I play, I mostly have a static monitor I just plug in with an extended jack cable, so I only walk around with my in-ears. Vocalists and such have more movement so they do have wireless, seems more interesting for them. Maybe when doing a remote gig? But then again, it's up to the technician to sort this stuff out most of the time right? How do you do this when playing gigs or church? Grounded or wireless?
@stalj3 ай бұрын
That's a good observation! I'll pass it along to their R&D team. I suppose because there's a dedicated mute as well as off function, I don't find myself needing to adjust the volume all too much so the fine control works out alright but it did take a spot of getting used to. For drummers, I'd agree that generally wired is best and no real inconvenience to most! At church I'm always using wired (I tried these once when I was switching with another drummer mid-set which made it easier to swop over without cable tangles but that's a very niche use situation...) and at gigs I'd prefer to be, however there's some small venues that don't have IEM capabilities and are just running wedges that sometimes don't have great sound output - that's when these gadgets come in handy to conveniently grab a monitor mix from the board instead without having to run multiple extra cables. These small gigs/venues often don't have much if any tech support either, if it's a DIY situation it does help to have options!

Looks very cool. Thank you. I've been considering the NUX B7PSM but now the WX510 looks very impressive. Hoping I can get it in Cape Town, South Africa. Would love to know the price.

Haven't tried that so I can't comment from personal experience but from what I see locally they should be in a similar price range!

Did you felt any audio safety compression ? Mono signal right system , do you hear any interference or hiss noise when the receiver is off or it never shuts down when you have turned on the transmitters ( or taken them out of the charging station 😅)? That noise you mention is fine but what about classical musicians where music suddenly stops or gets soft will this noise be noticeable . I mean for regular loud environment you should not worry I guess .. Sorry but I’m interested in this unit I have purchased many 2.4ghz they have fail on some areas 😅
@stalj3 ай бұрын
Compression - can't say I've noticed any even at louder levels so far. Interestingly, the receiver auto turns off once it's docked in the charger! When the receiver is off there is zero sound whatsoever, however when the receiver is on but transmitter is off there is some light interference noise (softer than the background whine you get when both are on). I honestly think it's not super noticable in any outside context - it's about the same volume as the fan or aircon noise in my room, so soft music would probably be fine. It's just total silence that it's more evident. Hope that helps!

Did you use mono cable or balanced TRS between interface to the Tx (Transmitter)? Seems nice in design, a tiny bit expensive but likely fine for some players budgets. Phenyx Pro is the new standard. I do want one that takes rechargeable batteries vs. a self-recharging unit where you cannot add a new fresh set for a long playing period. If it lasts 7 hours of play, then maybe it's good enough.
@stalj3 ай бұрын
Tried both, inconsequential since it's a mono-only device! For charging - I'd tend to dock it in between sets, so it's pretty easy to keep a near-full charge. There's also the option of swopping to the second unit if it's unused. But I can see how one that takes standard batteries would be preferable too!
@johnmcvicker67283 ай бұрын
@@stalj Would love this product - if allowing for stereo or mono mixes (2 inputs). Of course, that adds complexity, cost and all that where smaller bands/playing solo doesn't entirely need that. In our band situations that I deal with, stereo is nicer as you can do things with ambient mics, wider stereo image for keys, player placement, etc. And, of course, if all this is needed we do use Shure gear or even wired IEM setups. If a $12 bluetooth wireless tx and rx setup can do stereo, would be great if firms like this could consider making stereo IEM gear more of a standard.
@stalj3 ай бұрын
@@johnmcvicker6728 agreed - a mono mix has its uses in very small setups but that aside they are relatively niche. I did give them that feedback, we'll have to wait and see if a stereo version occurs in future!
