yeah I came to the same conclusion that it would be a pretty good pair. Its actually on my list I don't really need more faders at this point as I already have a fiarly decent daw controller with faders but the console 1 itself is sort of a high cost option. I'd really like something that has onboard dsp also for plugins.

I would have preferred to also have 3 knobs above each fader. I have a reason for that too.. I like to dial in volume and send simultanously. That's an important part of my workflow. When I add reverb I usually turn down the volume a bit at the same time to find the sweetspot. The same is true once I add delay. When I send to a delay I also want to be able to adjust the reverb at the same time to find the sweetspot fast. It's very important to me and my workflow. As long as I have to switch back and forth between volume, sends, etc, it simply isn't for me. Apart from that I'm certain it's a great controller and better than the controller I'm currently using (an old APC40 MK1).
@G_handleАй бұрын
If you're also in Reaper, your sends from 1 track go to another track. I put the two faders next to each other and blend the dry with the return. I also use a Lot of parallels on say a LD VOX, so the Dry fader may be next to a few wet fader returns from Comps, Sats, Delays, Short & Long Verbs. Im only responding to say that I'm with you on the blends, but for me the Faders are what make it possible ITB as it is on my actual analog consoles. (And they're unlimited)
@RicardoSoeAgnie3 ай бұрын
Still, Why is there no controller which just has motorized faders and at min 3 endless encoders per channel, where you can (re)- assign each entity on the controller to a midi parameter or keyboard-stroke-sequence-macro
@lukaspersson4473 ай бұрын
It's basically a fancy midi controller so the pricing is totally bananas.
@Clarkish2 ай бұрын
Pricing is steep, but the software integration makes it way more than a fancy midi controller. If you’re making a living from audio engineering, and do ITB or hybrid mixing this is a worthwhile investment.
@lukaspersson4472 ай бұрын
@@Clarkish You're probably right. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have them since I am making a living of production/engineering but you can totally get PA mixers with usb connection plus you get inputs and aux for outboard gear etc. with similar pricing. But on the other hand, automation seems like a walk in the park with this thing, but then again you could MIDI cc any midi controller for that.
@Clarkish2 ай бұрын
@@lukaspersson447 I have the console and fader original version, and the mk3 console. I’ve never come across another controller with the amazing touch sensitivity, resolution and haptic feedback of the mk3. So it’s not just a controller, it’s THE BEST controller I have ever used, by a big margin. The original version revolutionised my workflow, and the units continue to allow me to finish more jobs faster and better - which means they quickly pay for themselves. I am biased because I LOVE Softube, UA and FabFilter plugins - these are 90% of what I use, so having fully mapped intuitive hands on controls for these is a divine workflow. Plus, it’s a tax deduction, which helps with the pointy price.

Omg ive been looking for controllers working reliably with Reaper for years. Is it a hassle to set those up? Reaper is fantastic, the only pain is finding a good controller for it.
@G_handleАй бұрын
A) Console 1 works well because it basically bypasses the DAW. The channel strip plugins & the hardware controller are communicating with a third piece of software called OSD. B) However, if you haven't tried controllers in reaper in a few years, you may wanna try again. CSI Reaper has made Control Surface Integration inside of Reaper superior to All DAWs. But, there's a serious learning curve, you have to teach it what you want. On the other side of the setup though, you're dialed in like a six-figure system. (many of which I've used)
