Really? I’m also a dev on a WQHD screen, split in 3 between chrome / vscode / app and I don’t know why I would need more. Also I think for us it’s way better to prioritize resolution over speed, like the 5k / 6k monitors
@Almamu10 ай бұрын
@@ajnart_ There's so much more I'd do with the extra screen real state... I usually need to have open: chat, chrome, intellij (multiple windows most of the time), project's documentation and sometimes the inspector... Having higher resolutions is not always the solution either, after 4k i feel like the higher resolution doesn't translate into more real state, mainly because scaling has to go up otherwise you won't be able to read unless you're really close.

Great video. Ordered one from Samsung direct on sale. The packaging is substandard, not full foam. Base weighs like a ton in the same packaging. Well, the monitor had two full cracks down the middle. Not the shippers fault as the box only has a small marking at the bottom ends with tiny arrow for "up". They were saving on ink? Shipper laid it down so it would not fall. I will wait until this can be shipped without steel base and they mark to box correctly. This really looked promising for going full 4K.

@highbrassrule4 ай бұрын
This is such an interesting proposition. For multi-tasking with a single system, can you use two display out ports from a single PC and have them be treated as 2 separate monitors by windows? I assume so. However, the aspect ratio of a massive 16:9 display is extremely compromised *in my opinion* when you start dividing it up. I have a hard time accepting that I will either need to play a game in a much smaller quarter of the display, not centered, OR, choose a larger game view with supporting apps like twitch or discord in smaller displays, and leaving unused display space to fill in the gaps. I think multiple monitor set ups just make more sense in so many ways.

So its not very useful if you on Mac or linux for multiple inputs at the same time. Samsung support is not helpful at all. if you have an issue just factory reset your TV and start over. worked for me. Very odd I don't see many non sponsored reviews. My guess is it hard for the normal person to get alot of these cool features to work and Samsung is not very helpful. Great video and I didn't see any bias at all. if you want to be real helpful to your viewers plz reach out to Samsung and let them work on easy settings app to work for all platforms or give better instructions on how to get it to work with all platforms.

Thats exactly what id want to know.. he touched on it briefly and mentioned things can be saved as presets but i guess i need to mess with it in a store or something. .. can i toggle profiles or something and how does it treat 'screens'? important because a lot of window snapping stuff is wonky on really large displays. ie having 2 horizontal 'screens' on bottom vs just one big widescreen on the bottom.. If i want a PC to be treated as 2 screens does that mean im forced to use 2 inputs from 1 PC and it'll be more clunky because of all the screen swapping? Profiles: I want PC 1 to be '2 screens' across the bottom, PC2 on top left, PC3 on top right. but then i want to swap to PC1 is '2 screens' top and bottom on the left, PC2 the same on the right.. what about swapping something to a large landscape mode as '1 screen'

I really want to be excited for this monitor, but even at $2,000 now, it is just too low resolution for the cost. It is essentially 4x 27 inch 1080p monitors. Sure the flexibility is nice (albeit a but convoluted how you need TWO removes is really really dumb as crap,) but I don't see a big draw to play in 32:9 ratio at 3840x1080...it really just needs about 50% more pixels; Because right now its ok for gaming, but way to low DPI for serious work. The 57inch g9 neo has twice the resolution for less money

Questions: Can the Odyssey Gen 2 one connect box that came with monitor work on one of Samsung's 8k monitors? I guess are all Samsung One Connect connectors identical? What I am looking to accomplish is taking in 4 different 4k sources and push it out to an 8k samsung monitor via the one connect. I almost bought a Samsung 8k last year until I found out their one connect box could not support 4 different video inputs. Which now that I am looking back was the same problem with the Gen 1 Odyssey Ark at the time. Another interesting question would be can Odyssey Gen 2 one connect box work on a Odyssey Gen 1 monitor. IE upgrade the one connect box without having the upgrade the panel.

Update/Edit -- EFFFFFFFF the proprietary software required.. this will be a NO-GO for people with Work devices that are locked down.. I cant put random software on as i please... WHY cant it just be done with buttons / selector switches on the giant kvm hub? Guess you can work around this with a separate KVM maybe for just mouse and keyboard? Also bummer that the input for even 2 sources is dropped to 1080 @120hz.. not even 1440?? yeesh, maybe not then if i cant force my less important screens to be lower res and keep the important one at at least 1440p and good specs. What if its just multiple 'screens' or windows from a single PC.. hows it handle that? is the spec dropped there too? 30sec ing: OKAY now i finally want one! that multi-input all at once thing is exactly whats painful about trying to use KVMs between multiple machines and multiple monitors.. it blanks out screens, there's delays, im having to hit a bunch of extra buttons tucked ON THE BACK/RIGHT HANDSIDE (jfc gigabyte whyyyyyy - i cant put 2 monitors side by side because i have to move my monitor for every built-in input switch).. I just want to see multiple workflows across different computers FFS. Considering how expensive a 4input GOOD kvm is.. boy is this tempting. Example: for 2 PCs and 2 screens - you need 2 inputs for each 'selection' and then 2 outputs for the monitors.. only recently have prices started to come down and something like that from a good brand is like $150-200??
