For anyone considering this, I'll vouch for this little device. To mimic the "cartridge" feel I just got myself 2 good SD cards, flashed arkOS on them and put in my preferred rom combos. It's a good device that works nicely and if you're a retro games fan like me you'll actually enjoy this. Note: this thing can run NDS too but the low res kind of muddies it. Solid 7/10 👌

the price is probably the strongest selling point and if you don't care too much about psp and dreamcast then it's a nifty little device. tinkering with the settings you can make n64 games run pretty well too, or at least as good as they run on original hardware. might want to update the software as soon as you get it though

I just got mine. I went with the white one. To sort of match my OLED Switch and Vita. It’s a nice little unit. Especially for traveling. Nice that lots of the stuff I would put on it, is already on it. I have large hands, but this is honestly no worse than a PSO Go to use.

For those who hate that the back buttons is hard its actually good because the buttons are together so when you press one back button the others will not be interrupted

So many versions of this handheld. The one with the sticker on the back and the one without it. A blue colored packaging, a white background packaging and a black background packaging. Also the face buttons you can get could be the ultra stiff ones with other face buttons moving while just pressing one or the one that's not. Just an update you can put the RG351MP ArkOS img in your own SD card and update it via wifi using an OTG wifi adapter. For PSP performance auto frameskip works. Tekken Dark Resurrection is playable now and even Pursuit Force. For N64 use a different core. Mupen64 plus core is highly recommended. For Dreamcast use the flycast core. Yeah the R35S needs a little bit more tinkering to make the other emulators work properly but it's part of this hobby. I got mine updated to the latest ArkOS and I can't believe how easy it was. And for the amount I paid for this budget device I can't believe it even runs those systems.

Just after I got my R35S in the mail after it was lost in Singapore for over a week, and after I installed the DreamCast games I wanted to play on it... they announce AND release the R36S which fixes the placement of the d-pad/facebuttons which copies the Powkiddy RGB20S. I feel the R35S is a great system but copying the RGB20S design it makes playing games needing the face buttons/d-pad a nightmare to play. I am excited to see how much better the R36S is, buying the R35S at $52 Canadian and the R36S at $63 Canadian.

I also just straight up deleted the PlayStation Portable ROMs to make room for the DreamCast games I wanted, since PSP titles on a 4:3 screen is just silly and the default system only had five DreamCast titles installed by default.

The worst is how the DreamCast emulator defaults to using the L2 and R2 buttons for basic L/R inputs, so when you play Sonic Adventure 2 on the R35S, you REALLY gotta stretch your hands to both control the camera and do basic functions like jumping/homing attacks/spin dashing/etc.

What I'd like to have is a Rotating diplay like what nokia used to do back in the days so you can play Portrait and landscape mod just by rotating the screen. Also, the build quality looks a bit sloppy so I'd not mind if the price was 100+usd rather than 56usd. the buttons on the corners are not going to be easy to play with so they would have to do something about that.

The main disadvantage of this console is that its creators spared RAM. If instead of 1 GB DDR3L, they would have made at least 4 GB, it would have been great.

If the buttons, joysticks, or anything else with the form factor of this one isn't liked (or is too uncomfortable), don't forget you can use a wired controller; this might help to solve the issues faced with those. It is also possible to connect to a television I believe, which might resolve some of the DS screen issues (obviously, however, there will still be no touch screen capabilities). Just some thoughts on this one.😀

you can get comfort grips, it's a clone of rgb20s so it fits perfectly. unfortunately I don't think this one has output for TV.. or at least not that I know of

Hey, First of all don't know where you bought it from ? Ali-express you have dispute time .. use it. Make picture and best a video product is faulty. What to do ? - Re-Enter sd card or cards - Make sure it is charged. - Battery working & connected correctly If these basic things don't work just dispute and get an replacement.

I know the questions were not aimed at me, but at Wicked, but I can answer them for you. It should be playable as soon as you turn it on, you may need to charge it first, else playing time will be less. There are two SD cards, a 64GB for the games and a 32GB for the OS. It should be possible to add and remove games, but remember the cards are generic, so it might be better to back them up first. Hope this helps.
