Had a friend back in the 1970's and he was a good pitcher. His father thought he was going to be a MLB player and would make him practice pitching every day. By the time he turned 16 years old his arm was ruined. He couldn't play in highschool. He honestly was amazing to watch pitch when he was a young kid and he might of had a bright future in baseball. His father took that from him because he wasn't ever allowed to rest.

Some people don't understand how it cost money to even play in organized leagues. Trying to do all that being at the bottom of the financial spectrum is pretty damn close to impossible. This kid's parents clearly have the money to support this goal as well as time. Not knocking his drive and ambition, but it wouldn't even be the same thing for someone who simply don't got it like he does. It's facts.

Might be the dad…also might be the kid. My kid is great/elite at his age group…but everything has been 100% driven by his motivation. Dad, can we go back to the cages again? Dad can you throw me grounders pop ups? Many more dads and coaches are aware of blowing up young arms-so my kid has been sidelined several times allowing the arm to heal, PT, strengthening, etc. I personally admire this kid’s dedication and hope he goes far! But just like my kid-you’re a car accident (or less) away from being done, so you better have some back up dreams.
