Could be the mother abandoned her. Animals will do that. Especially if there is something wrong with the baby. Runts, birth defects, and sometimes just generally abandoning them. Yes it is creul but nature is survival of the fittest.

I often question the authenticity of these videos sometimes because I find it hard to believe that someone would dump a puppy out in the middle of nowhere, and I find it difficult to believe that someone would see an abandoned puppy and not immediately do something to help the puppy instead of calling someone else!
