This Achievement in The Evil Within 2 is TRULY Terrifying

After taking on the hardest achievement in The Evil Within 1, its time to do the same with The Evil Within 2. Will it be easier like most people say, or will the semi permadeath destroy my mental fortitude. Knowing me, probably the latter.

For the firewalk just a tip - they have next to no health and spawn one in front, then behind, then repeat. Two pistol headshots kill them and your companion gives you ammo

Had no idea this achievement existed. Essentially takes the hardest difficulty in Dead Space but in a longer game WITHOUT upgrades. Idk how you did it Snam. Those deaths would’ve been soul draining for me lol

Dead Space doesn't let you save at all, right? 7 saves are actually quite lenient. I saved once before the Guardian Town Hall fight, once before Stefano, once before the insignia thing (since the cabin defense comes immediately after), once before the firewalk, once immediately after, once before the boss gauntlet, once before the final boss. Imo the cabin defense and firewalk are super brutal, so if you are good at the boss gauntlet, you can use that save immediately after the cabin fight. Imo, the worst stretch was the beginning because of cutscenes and stuff wasting time if you accidentally died, but otherwise, the game is rather nice to you since everything can be stealth-killed aside from Guardians, bosses and the dogs, meaning if you don't trigger ambush encounters, you can do a lot by just being cautious. AKUMU imo is way worse since it's so easy to get hit accidentally.

But they are referring to the remake of DS1 I think which indeed has no save but people found a work around to be able to play it with saves they outsource to the PS plus save cloud. I've no PS plus on my acc tho and won't be able to use that so I'm not touching remake DS1 just yet tho, my butt is still recovering from the clenching I did during the eye scene in DS2 lmao

Pro tip about the Obscura fight. If you don't want to waste ammo, use the smoke bolts and blast her with them. It stuns her, and make it so she can't see you at all, not only that, she won't move until the smoke clears. So if you keep hitting her with smoke, she won't pause the timer. ;) Note this method is not as viable on Classic due to not being able to upgrade your arsenal. But it is still effective at stopping her from flashing the Stable Field Emitter.

You can literally just repeatedly stab her. If she goes up on the ceiling you shoot her down and carry on stabbing. This game is not difficult at all lol.

Or just melee her repeatedly so she can't run away or get on the ceiling, not that it's hard to shoot her down again and carry on with melee. She can't get anywhere near the timer if she's stun locked.

Something i realized while playing evil within 2 is even if you dont have the eye to show you if a enemy sees you or not when playing nightmare or classic mode is still gonna be possible to know if the see you because if a enemy is looking for you the healthbar and stamina bar will appear meaning youll know if a enemy almost saw you or not or if youre in their view

I've been saving this video for a rainy day like fine china or insert other metaphor here, and oh my god it's so good. You're really fun to watch suffer, and pulling off this achievement is just generally insanely impressive!!! The patience required for this... I'm sad I couldn't catch the streams live, but with TEW2 being one of my favourite games ever in existence, seeing people play it makes me super happy. Also holy shit I'm now more intimidated about going for this achievement (second-last before platinum for me) than I was before lmao.

Deffo agreed. Dying in one hit imo is way harder than having limited saves. I died probably double-digits max in TEW2 for the achievement, while I easily got into triple-digits for the other one, and even had to take breaks.

As a trophy hunter i got both plats and the dlc trophies , i say Ew2 clasic was harder for me....because of how much stuff you had to do after you die ,stealth kills enemies/explore/loot same areas with minimal use of resources. Ew1 was more straight forward,yet still annoying.

I remember my first save was before the Stefano fight, before the Cabin Defense, before the Fire Walk, and the final Save Point. I know I used all of them, just don't know where the other three went.

While I personally never would not save before the Guardian at the latest for my first save, if you are reasonably good at Guardian and Obscura, before Stefano probably would be the best point to save for the first time simply so you can save more often in the way, way more annoying second half. Like second save before cabin - third one immediately after - fourth one before firewalk - fifth one immediately after - sixth one before boss rush - seventh one before final boss. I personally drop the one before the boss rush myself, but otherwise, imo the cabin and firewalk are such obnoxious sections you need saves before/afterwards, and the more you can delay the first save, the better. Again, I'm not that insane, but I'd like to be good enough to confidently save before Stefano for the first time.@@Snamwiches

Saw this game on game pass 2 yrs ago and tried it since I didn't know if I'd like it or not and it's now part of my top 10 games. Even bought it on ps4 since I liked it so much and slowly going for the platinum. This achievement is actually easy thanks to in-game cheats but based off the unlock % not many knew or cared to go back and get it.

just finished this game on nightmare for the fourth time. the gameplay is so much fun in my opinion, but it just doesnt have the same gritty feel as the first game. definitely gonna try akumu at some point, just dont know if im ready for the pain im gonna endure along the way 😅 Also, fun fact for anyone attempting this: for stealth and ammo conservation, bottles are your best friend. This is also true for when you want to take out enemies that are just lying on the ground. Throw it at their head, and they’ll wake up in a stunned state for about a second or two, allowing for practically free stealth kills. This and stealth sprinting are two things that will save you a lot of ammo and time.

I didn't really like the 2nd game. Didn't like it's focus, the open layout of the game just ruins the feel & gameplay of the game. Also didn't like certain enemy designs & the story, etc. *The first one is so so soo much better in my opinion.
