@@supraguy4694 Training these models require a lot of energy, making clips like these does not. but if everyone makes clips like these then it of course weights up, just like millions of people using Chatgpt also weighs up. The models however also get more efficient to run over time as the technology advances, and i think ChatGPT 4o has already come a long way in terms of that, which is also how the company can offer it for free. Bitcoin mining also gets more efficient over time but maybe not as much, however, bitcoin is usually mined where it's cost efficient, meaning where there's an abundance of renewable energy that can't be transferred to the rest of the world, for example on volcano islands. Cryptocurrency pollutes less than all of tradition banking.

Honestly, this gave me a great idea. Use AI for a shape-shifting monster in a horror film. Like it's not perfect and constantly has these little oddities and mistakes. The uncanny feel would be the point. Train it on an actor who gets paid for it (limit it to that one film in the contract so they're not signing away their likeness for anything the studio wants). In this way, AI could be just another tool in the toolbox rather than a garbage plagiarism machine.

This has to be written by AI. I refuse to believe that an editor looked at this script and changed nothing. Two strangers meet on a train to Paris, and fall in love is your first draft of a romance story. That isn't your romance story, or that SHOULDN'T be. No confliction, no romantic rivals, no backstories on either leads. Its kinda wild that they forgot the most important part about romance movies: they're character dramas. The audience needs to LIKE and sympathize with the leads so that we look forward to their journey. If your leads are: generically attractive man is mysterious and generically attractive woman is indecisive, you have failed. You're making a saltine cracker of a movie. That is not a compelling love story. I can believe that the plot is AI because it sounds so unbearably generic as a story. This wouldn’t even pass the tumblr test.

@@bentramer682 That is correct, actual socialist economies have done even worse. But the erosion of freedoms is not due to capitalism, it is due to authoritarian or "collectivist" thinking, i.e. allowing your government (in collusion with big companies) to dictate what you should or should not buy, and also to violently take away your money and spend it as they like rather than as you would like. In that setup you don't really decide whether you support a big company or not, the big company gets a subsidy from your government. The thing with ai is just looks so fucking amateur. Like, it has no personality and crudely tries to imitate what conventional “good” looking art is without really understanding it intuitively. And it’s especially worse because the people generating this stuff probably aren’t that deep into art to begin with. Actual creatives would have come up with a way to leverage the limitations, much like toy story did by using plastic toys as the main characters, in a creative way. Maybe something like adam said, by using different art styles like other works have in the past.

I suggest looking up some of the articles about how they made the recent Air Head short film to promote open AI's new Sora video generation thing. Basically it involved generating a huge amount of footage (using a huge amount of time and computing power) and then editing it together into something coherent, more like a documentary than a narrative film. You couldn't come up with a less efficient way to make a film if you tried. Visually this looks much more primitive than Air Head. Currently there are people using stable diffusion to generate very short animations (like 3 second loops, with quality rapidly falling off the longer they get), and this looks like they've just decided to piece together that sort of generation to make a feature length film. This stuff is so obviously not ready to make an actual film that the most likely scenario is that this is a borderline scam to cash in on the AI buzzword craze.

AI bros who think machines can accurately draw hands by now clearly have never seen a hand before. Same thing goes for faces, honestly 4:40 The index finger is half the length it should be, how did Adum not notice that?

Can ai even create something original? Aren’t all the assets in the trailer plucked from something else and morphed into what the writer wants it to be? I know a lot of AI takes from books like A song of ice and fire, which has opened up a copyright case against generative AI.

Basically not. It learns the metadata of whatever it is fed and humans need to sort out what this metadata means. So inevitebly its just a mix of things humans already know, mashed together to a kind of average version of it. Thats why it cant get hands right. It just "sees" hands, a human tells it its a hand. Do this a million times and the ai has a lot of images to pull from for hands, but it doesnt know how a hand functions, so it doesnt piece them together in a sensical way.

AI won't actually be artificially intelligent until the computer starts making stuff with absolutely no human input at all. All we've got right now are algorithms that stitch together stolen art.

It's sad to see nobody is going to use AI for the intended purpose of menial work or a rough draft that needs actual people to touch up and change details to perfect it. It's going to be lazily used just to make "everything," even the "creative" choices. I mean ffs, you don't just type into a calculator, "do math."

In the past people wanted robots to do the laundry and do peoples jobs so they can persue their hobbies and art and just generally have a good time But the opposite happens and ai takes people out of art so all that’s left to do is still be forced to work obsolete jobs that can be automated already

I think the sad part is that the people who are making these AI movies basically just want to produce something with the least amount of effort. I feel like with how uncanny and strange looking these movies can be, a more creative person could use this medium to make an incredibly unique experience you couldn't make with human artists. Its like when more studios started making stylized 3D movies rather than hyper realistic ones. I feel like there's something here that could be tapped into that unfortunately wont get explored.

Okay after doing some googling, it's just the images that are ai. The script and the Voice Actors aren't ai. Which honestly at that point, you might as well make everything in the movie ai.
