Love that tone. Saturated but clear. Very EJ violin-like. So glad you are enjoying the Tube Driver!

That opening tone was very Neil Schon early Journey sounding. Always one of my favorite sounds. Reminds me of ‘Who’s Crying Now’ tone a bit.

That’s my favorite tone Schon tone. And probably my favorite solo, too.

Dude that helix patch is damn close, im not listening with the best headphones right now but i dont really find the patch lacking in any big way! I think both tones are lovely.

I downloaded and installed the patch into my Helix LT, it is pretty close John to my TD. I did modify the patch and settings to suit. Thanks, very useful for my needs.

I noticed with my TD that the mesa valve that it came with was overly fuzzy , i bought a NOS 60's brimar and it got rid of the fuzz and made it amazing ...great pedal

I recommend, if you still have the Mesa Lonestar, that would be an even greater experience. Clean, through channel one and dirty, more plexi like in the second channel. Experimenting with different tubes in the pedal is also fun. Cheers!

Didn't notice when you switched. The tipoff would be the amount of hum and noise from the real amp, though those artifacts can also be recreated in some of the Line 6 Amps. The Legacy "Tube Comp" Dynamics Model in HX Stomp does a good job creating a tube-like tone when placed at the front of the signal chain, and adjusting the Sag Parameter in a suitable Amp Block can help get close to the "squishy" feel of a real Tube Amp. 😎

Loved the tone but there was a lot of noise. Was that from the cranked amp, the power station, or the pedal; or a combination of all three?
@nathanieldahman9268Күн бұрын
It's nice and warm and thick and seems to have a little bit of fuzz. Reminds me a bit of the Zen drive tone. Would you consider doing a comparison video of the two?

Did you check the Tone King tube pedal ? I saw a sneak peek in an Andertons vid at NAMM 25 , I already started saving . Love the intro, 👏🏻

Bk butler is a great pedal. The treble is very intense . People put at noon from habit but it s way to. Intense , need to start at 1 . And adjust very slowly

It goes 1 to 10. ( noon is 5 on this pedal. I like it Aprox. 2.5 and I thought it was my amp .Thought something odd etc so used to noon would be starting point but noon on this pedal. Is to strong. I looked at Eric Johnson s board the next concert . To see where he had it. And he was around 2.5 also. And other people also had there .

…Can you please show us how you set up the power station cables? I believe you are plugging the power station between the amp output and speaker input 8 ohms on the Deluxe. Btw really Great tone. I have both a power station II and a Butler Tube Driver and a vintage Vibrolux so I’ll try it out. Thank you!

That’s a great tone. Kind of a slightly dirtier version of the Eric Johnson violin tonality. I’ve been using an effectrode blackbird tube preamp pedal in front of a Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb for a while getting a similar tone. Don’t much care for the TMDR cranked though IMO it is at its best at about 3 to 4 on the volume and the Blackbird gets it into that syrupy territory. 👍

The Helix tone was fizzier on the low notes, and sounded generally a little stiff. The tube tone was creamy sounding, not fizzy at all, and the high notes were clear but not percussive, and just generally more singing. Just sayin' . . .
