want to save what is left of cast iron engine purchase a coolant filter mounting kit. there are several brands I would encourage to get one with a zinc plug / plus super charge with antifreeze.

I bought a stuck Deere “B”- pulled the plugs & drowned the cylinders with Kroil for a week. I made a socket to fit the flywheel & cranked on that with a large pipe wrench & she eventually broke free…E-Z does it & Kroil worked for me….

I've heard kroil works great, we just didn't have any on hand.

You may have wabted to first to see if it was hydrolocked which would have been an easy fix. If it was not, then soak the cylinders with some diesel or penetrating fluid for a week or too.

I took the spark plugs out and looked in the cylinders and just saw rust so it wasn't even worth it. Your definitely right though, some come easy and some just don't.

his engine uses shimmed connecting rods .i would drop the oil pan and remove the pistons and replace the rings. if the rings are stuck you will have a dead cylinder. you check the oil clearance with plastiguage and if too much oil clearance remove a shim layer to take up the clearance.. until you have 0.0015" i would also grind the valves and seats. then you will have a full power WD with good oil pressure. i recomend hastings rings
