Not sure if anyone pointed it out, but "KBB" is an abbreviation for KuBianBao, a company that did several KOs of CHUG, MP, etc. Their most notable thing was MP10V, a Voyager sized KO of MP10 Optimus Prime. They also had a white Ultra Magnus version (MP10VU) and a black Black Convoy/Nemesis Prime version (MP10VB). Other notable stuff: "MPP21", an oversized KO of MP21 Bumblebee, "KBB Tank", a 1:1 KO of Combiner Wars Megatron (that also has the Armada Megatron head AND a KO of the DX9 upgrade kit in the box), "Detective", a KO (I think it's 1:1, or it may have been oversized) of AoE Hound (plus the Dr. Wu upgrade kit)...and an improved set of MP11 mold Seekers (that run the Hasbro MP03 Starscream, MP11T Thundercracker, and the fugly Classics & MP06 Skywarp colors). They also have an oversized KO of NewAge's first Bumblebee (that comes just above MP10V's knees). As for this...I wouldn't even compare it to the Core class, I think a fairer comparison would be against Legends class.

I think a great figure to review is the jinbao Optimus prime, specifically the small one, there’s also a megatron and they’re both really accurate and cheap from 25-45$ (in box)

Thank you. I was choosing between this and the Mechanical Alliance KO Prime (which you also reviewed). It’s for my 6 yr old nephew, and I’m going with this KBB Combat Commander because of its easier transformation 😊 Love the G1 looks too.

I actually have the Kbb Shockwave and I really like it, but the chest “ it might just be on my copy” doesn’t want to really lock in, bit it’s a really good figure, plus since it’s sort of a model kit with screws you can also customize the joints on how tight you want it to be.

1:16 you actually can close this gap by pushing part of top grill inside, I have this figure for over 3 years. My favorite figure from this "wave" is Grimlock, he is really great, but he's a model kit. Funny enough this Prime model kit as well, but he's the only one who comes already built lol

Third-party (& KO to a lesser degree) has left the CHUG scale train a *long* time ago in favor of the MP train...until more recent peeps came in on the Legends scale game. And that's having the exact same thing happen that blew up third-party CHUG: ever increasing prices to ridonkalonkalous levels. NewAge & Magic Square Skyfire?? TRIPLE DIGIT PRICES. Yup, they want Masterpiece money for a Legends scale figure (it's the size of a large Deluxe or small Voyager).

You should try the Mech planet optimus prime, magic square, and even the cheap Jinbao version if you like extra large legends scale primes lol. 3rd party legends scale rules! Also try rotating the feet in truck mode 180 degrees so it looks less like feet.
