Mic is perfectly fine to me Dave. And honestly this is exactly the reason why I think smurf account shouldn't be allowed on iRacing. You can't be racing drivers that aggressively when you know you're a pro driver and they're not. And of course that last punt was getting close to if not completely protest worthy. Yes he might not have intended to but everybody in the higher splits should know that you need to have a bit of a gap to the car in front in the braking zone. What a tool.

In iRacing, owning your mistake and apologizing will always make things better. Will it save you from getting protested always? No. But it will more than you think. It's also good to recognize your mistakes so you can learn from them. There's no reason to drive like this especially, like you said in the video, they wouldn't drive that way on their main. Smurf accounts don't bother me unless that's the case. Drive like you would on both and I'm fine with it. I get that you need to maintain IR at a level to stay in your esport team and drive those big events in top split... but just own when you F up and apologize. It really is that simple. Always enjoy the videos Dave! Mic sounds great as well.

@daviddavies36373 ай бұрын
There's a few things not quite right with ACC's physics in general. I mean, how does someone who struggles on some tracks suddenly get on the podium, including win, at almost every wet race? Hell of a thing when you're constantly praying for rain. Cars also seem to spin or spear off at the slightest touch. Having said that, I've tried iRacing and was actually less impressed by that, mainly because of its net code problem and the fact that you have to constantly pay to get anywhere with it. I can't justify the cost when there are so many other titles out there that don't have the same pay to play model.

Dave, From about 21:45 you played the race from inside the car behind you. Replay that and listen to the way he manipulates his gears and throttle. It's different to the way you do it and he is gaining on you because of it. He trails the throttle completely closed much less than you and has more 'pulling revs' going - the throttle is more open. I'm not sure I'm explaining it right but it's a known technique and I believe Michael Schumacher was a proponent of this technique as was Ayrton Senna. A difficult balance but one that would be nice to achieve.
@davecamyt3 ай бұрын
I wouldn't read too much into that. The replay sounds, gear changes etc is a little off in replays so it probably looks different.

Audio is clean. Just be careful not to put the mic too close. Just like the Shure, if you are too close to the mic it amplifies the bass in your voice and so lead to unexpected clipping. Have the mic just below chin height, aiming up to your mouth.
@jamesdaniel80203 ай бұрын
The headset mic is always going to be a bit "hissy." You might be able to use a de-esser plugin for OBS or VST if you want to tamp it down. I personally couldn't stand having an SM7B in my face while racing but it is one of the best mics in its class.
