In the southern Tagalog region, malalim talaga sila managalog dun lalo na sa Bulacan, not necessarily more educated. iba rin ang accent nila kahit tagalog ang salita nila. Sa Batangas, tagalog din ang salita pero iba rin ang accent at ganun din sa Quezon Province. Napaka-rich ng lenggwahe ng Pilipinas tapos haluan mo pa ng taglishbat mga invented words ngayon kung di ka talaga immersed malilito ka.

From all your interviews that I watched, it seems that what makes people learn a language is love for its culture/people. Because without it, even if one stays for a very long time in a country or place, it will be very difficult for one to learn the language.

Jared, Naka-kagalak na malaman ang interes mo sa salitang Tagalog. Ang iyong kagustuhan na malaman ang Pilipinong lengguwahe, salita, diyalekto ay magre-resulta ng pag-tuklas mo ng kultura, ugali, tradisyon, at personal na aspirasyon ng bawat indibiduwal na Pilipino para sa kanilang sarili at sa kailang pagma-mahal sa bayan.

To all foreigners who would like to learn to speak Filipino, I suggest you learn pure Tagalog language first from any legitimate institution, school or any accredited online or onsite language learning centers so you won't get lost in the woods so to speak. Learning the proper grammar will truly lead you to speak fluent Filipino language. Now most Filipinos especially in the Manila area (including me), we speak TagLish (Tagalog-English). They like to speak in a 'code-switching' manner and so-called "Tagalized" English. But I myself would like to speak pure Tagalog as much as I can without sounding funny. I say funny because nowadays, to them if you speak pure Tagalog (if you're able to) you'll be called out as "Makata". Makata means you are speaking as if you were William Shakespeare. We all know that native English speakers don't talk like that anymore (Shakespearean era). It's the same situation with us. We don't speak (makata) like that either in this day and age. But like I said, there's a way to speak pure Tagalog without sounding funny. How? Well I don't make videos on youtube. Maybe someday I'll make one to share my knowledge. haha. The truth is we are having a CRISIS in our national language and the Department of Education (government agency) don't even realize that this crisis exists. If they don't do something about it, many decades from now our national language will turn into 50% English, 30% TagLish, 10% Tagalog, 5% Spanish and 5% others. THAT. IS. SAD.

Astig! (It's a slang expression made by reversing the order of the syllables of the word "tigas," meaning "strong"). "Bomalabs" = "malabo" = unclear or vague. "Tomguts" = "gutom" = hungry. "Bogchi" = "chibog" = food (of any type).

Filipino loves putting Tagalog conjugation to English words. Nag eenjoy ka ba? - Are you enjoying? Mamimiss kita - I will miss you. Nakakarelax - It is relaxing. Nag effort - Made an effort Mag pray tayo - Let us pray. I don't see a lot of Filipino speak in full Tagalog as it will be hard. Some words are really long. Just an example: Pananampalataya - Faith I would say that language evolves overtime.

Para sa dadgdag na kaalaman. "Natutonan" (matutunan; will learn) MO (KO) yung linggwahe instead of natuto () MO yung linggwahe. Pwede rin namang "natuto KA (AKO) nung linggwahe if you really want to use "natuto". So it depends on the pronouns you'll be using e.g KA or MO, AKO or KO. Another example; NATUTUTUNAN KO (constant/still/continuously learning) yung linggwahe sa paaralan or NATUTUTO AKO :)
