Dave and Jonathan - you have interviewed many smart people, but Elena is not only smart, but also WISE. This is a very wise individual with the most reality-based perspective that you two have interviewed. She should work with former Olympic athletes to “life-coach”them through the transition. And, when she critiques skaters, she’s never mean nor flippant, she is empathetic, but realistic. She could be as good a coach as Tamara!

And i agree completely with everything she said about training with the competition, about moskvina's coaching methods and about the situation with the 2 pairs teams. I just hope that B/K will be smart and focus on the important things. Mishina and Galliamov are the only pair where I’m glued to HIM instead of HER through pretty much the whole performance. Even on the lifts, where I’m supposed to admire a female skater perched up gracefully in the air, I’m staring at Galliamov thinking, ‘Damn it, how can you look so effortlessly sexy, ahem, x-factor, while lifting a fifty kilo woman on one hand? I’ve heard Anastasia’s previous skating partner abandoned her four years ago because he considered her too heavy. Just imagine, the girl must have been broken-hearted at that time. Little she knew that she was about to get Sasha Galliamov all to herself. God works in mysterious ways in figure skating

I have been a huge M/G fan ever since they debuted their Queen free skate, and I love that Moskvina decided to use the real song with the lyrics because she of all people DESERVES to feel cocky about her skaters and their fabulous work. The potential bad vibes in the Moskvina camp will be interesting to watch going forward, because Boikova/Kozlovskii (especially Boikova) were looking pretty put out by this turn of events. I loved Mishina/Galliamov for 3 seasons now, but I think Sui/Han can definitely beat them. Sui/Han beat them in every element but lost 10 points to them in the SBS jumps, if Sui rotates those jumps they'll win. Their PCS can go higher too (3 points higher last worlds). And they'll be in Beijing next year so the judges will help them. but after 2022 when Sui/Han retire, yes I think M/G can dominate. Boikoiva/Kozlovskii tried the 3S+1Eu+3S at the cup final and 3T+3T here but if they can't stabilize it won't do much good

She is great and I hope finally could make clear the difference between Russian and American/European approach instead of simply hating Eteri and Russian skaters

Elena is a great guest! And clearly Tamara Moskvina is the best person in the figure skating world and should be protected on all cost!!! :)

I wonder how many times Savchenko had been told by her coaches that it was her time to retire and let other people win before she took her gold.

Likely many!

I think it depends on the coach. I don't think the guys coaching Savchenko had the balls to tell her to retire, LOL.

Her coaches did not told but many others did

I went off Boikova/Kovloski when he was all arogant and rude towards Mishina/Galiomov earlier in the season but I thought her attitude was aweful. I don't know why she was so stroppy with ber partner when it was her that fell on the side by side jump. Seemed like a right Diva!

She is...the situation at the Kiss&Cry was disappointing

Well her attitude towards Moskvina was worse. I felt so sorry for Tamara Nikolaevna whose the only fault was taking BK from nowhere to the World podium. I also felt sorry for her quite mean phrase to Nastya and Sasha when she said to them at the beginning of the press-conference "Will you finally speak?"
@arthurtheaardvark133 жыл бұрын
@@FK_loving she said that?! That is so rude! Am I missing some context here? (Regarding the press conference)
@FK_loving3 жыл бұрын
@@arthurtheaardvark13 The first journalist asked her question. Sasha Gallyamov was drinking water and Nastya was looking around trying to understand if they had to answer first. And that time Sasha Boikova said - I think it can be translated literally - "So you speak already" "Speak finally". May be in some non-official context and with a friendly manner in her voice it would be perfectly ok. But her tone and those words said in an offical enviroment sounded quite unpleasant and even rude. I was not alone who noticed that.

It's fantastic how candid she is about her own faults back in the day. Really enjoy the little anecdotes. Didn't realise Boikova had been rude. Tsk tsk! As Elena said, it's hardly Tamara's fault!

19:40 yeah, there are rumours that last year there was trouble at velikovs rink, and they looked so miserable and over it last season, so perhaps there is some truth to those rumours... The best thing they could do was move to moskvina
