Dave and Jonathan - you have interviewed many smart people, but Elena is not only smart, but also WISE. This is a very wise individual with the most reality-based perspective that you two have interviewed. She should work with former Olympic athletes to “life-coach”them through the transition. And, when she critiques skaters, she’s never mean nor flippant, she is empathetic, but realistic. She could be as good a coach as Tamara!

This is my first time watching elena bechke talking about skating. She is amazing! And i agree completely with everything she said about training with the competition, about moskvina's coaching methods and about the situation with the 2 pairs teams. I just hope that B/K will be smart and focus on the important things. M/G have improved a lot since last year and one thing i noticed about this team is that i prefer to watch him skate, i find him more elegant, charismatic and better interpreting the music.

Mishina and Galliamov are the only pair where I’m glued to HIM instead of HER through pretty much the whole performance. Even on the lifts, where I’m supposed to admire a female skater perched up gracefully in the air, I’m staring at Galliamov thinking, ‘Damn it, how can you look so effortlessly sexy, ahem, x-factor, while lifting a fifty kilo woman on one hand? I’ve heard Anastasia’s previous skating partner abandoned her four years ago because he considered her too heavy. Just imagine, the girl must have been broken-hearted at that time. Little she knew that she was about to get Sasha Galliamov all to herself. God works in mysterious ways in figure skating

Elena is such a wonderful guest, I could listen to her all day! Loved hearing her insights about Moskvina's camp, it's amazing to hear about from someone who actually trained from her and knows what it's like. I have been a huge M/G fan ever since they debuted their Queen free skate, and I love that Moskvina decided to use the real song with the lyrics because she of all people DESERVES to feel cocky about her skaters and their fabulous work. Such a thrilling pairs event, the Olympics are going to be a bloodbath next year! Thank you for such an entertaining and educational episode!

The potential bad vibes in the Moskvina camp will be interesting to watch going forward, because Boikova/Kozlovskii (especially Boikova) were looking pretty put out by this turn of events. Alesksandr Galliamov is THE REASON why I love that pair. I mean, she’s fantastic, but HE is just sublime. The way he throws himself into the lunge before the 3T. Also, IMO they are unbeatable as long as they are clean and have that triple/triple. It’s such a huge points getter.

I loved Mishina/Galliamov for 3 seasons now, but I think Sui/Han can definitely beat them. Sui/Han beat them in every element but lost 10 points to them in the SBS jumps, if Sui rotates those jumps they'll win. Their PCS can go higher too (3 points higher last worlds). And they'll be in Beijing next year so the judges will help them. but after 2022 when Sui/Han retire, yes I think M/G can dominate. Boikoiva/Kozlovskii tried the 3S+1Eu+3S at the cup final and 3T+3T here but if they can't stabilize it won't do much good

Skating with your ex probably gives such 'perks' :( I do not enjoy how the 'coach' Trankov and Morozov always blame Evgenia and her psychology. They both definitely contribute to her psychological state, and the whole team needs to work with a therapist, not just Zhenya.

@@MrJonez96 If it was in russian, he'd sound lot smarter and easy on the ears. I've been in his situation in first few years of learning English. He just doesn't have even a fraction of the English vocabulary compared to what he uses in Russian. And with his age I think he probably forgot a lot of English words that he used to know. 10 years my mom still could hold a conversation in English for an hour or more. Now she really struggles with a few minutes of phone conversation in English. People's memory not the same in old age. Some forget everything and others stay sharp until 90+

@@vladG30 I think you are totally right. For me he talked a lot and I wanted to hear D+J when they tried to get a word in but he would talk over them. I think it's also the difference between "are we interviewing this person where they are expected to give the majority of opinions" vs a three way conversation. Neither is right or wrong, but I think we are used to more of a three way talk.

@@colleenduffy1139 well that particular problem would occur often with those whose hearing isn't good anymore. I saw it with many old guys in several languages. They'd often not hear the other person or if they did, they'd keep talking until they made their point. Creates a lot of awkward moments on zoom calls

Well her attitude towards Moskvina was worse. I felt so sorry for Tamara Nikolaevna whose the only fault was taking BK from nowhere to the World podium. I also felt sorry for her quite mean phrase to Nastya and Sasha when she said to them at the beginning of the press-conference "Will you finally speak?"

@@arthurtheaardvark13 The first journalist asked her question. Sasha Gallyamov was drinking water and Nastya was looking around trying to understand if they had to answer first. And that time Sasha Boikova said - I think it can be translated literally - "So you speak already" "Speak finally". May be in some non-official context and with a friendly manner in her voice it would be perfectly ok. But her tone and those words said in an offical enviroment sounded quite unpleasant and even rude. I was not alone who noticed that.
