Very interesting point about *Medvedeva!* She knows the Tutberidze approach all too well, she got very familiar with the Brian approach and now Tarasova too! That's a whole training database accumulated in just two decades!

I think Medvedeva will truly be something special as a coach. She already brings in more insight having trained with Eteri AND Orser. She's always had Tarasova backing her & now Buyanova. Plus her own years of experience constantly active in the competitive scene and has faced interesting set backs. Not to mention, survived an Eteri drag and came out on top. I think she'll be a great coach that's finally able to break that Russia for Russia idea and incorporate choreographers and skaters from other countries to train in Russia If that's where she chooses to start her training camp. ♥️

Fast forward to now. She seems to be taking on a role of mentor you the young Russian skaters after the disaster of the Olympics. Maybe she can change the toxic culture Eteri has created and build something better. She really thrived personally under Orser and Wilson. I think she's be a great coach.

It was interesting to me as well in the Trusova doc that they were basically saying she's totally muscling those jumps and could do them easier with more efficiency and better technique. It is interesting to see how in a matter of months Plushy (through sheer money and will) and Lambiel (kinda by accident) have become the coaches to watch. Given their personal successes, I'm very excited to see how their influence will play out with these skaters.

As for what role Brian Orser is playing since Evgenia has good ol Tarasova and Buyanova on her side right now in Russia, I really think it just comes down to Evgenia wanting to stick with staying in Canada. At least she's been very vocal about how her transition to training in Canada was life changing for the better. I think it's good for her mentally to escape Russian politics and physically, Orser's regime is what she needs since she seems to want this long term. Strangely enough though, I feel Evgenia bodes better with Tracy's guidance. ♥️

Speaking as a Canadian, I don't think Evgenia can even come into Canada with the travel restrictions. Even though she has been training and living here, I don't know if the government would let her through based on the criteria for exemptions. I know Jason said he tried twice. And there has not been talks about lifting the restrictions in the next 2-3 months

I enjoy ‘This and That’ but wanted to make a plea. Could you please introduce each topic with an explanation of what has happened. I’m continually having to pause the video and go in search of info so I can understand what on earth you’re talking about! Lol E.g. a quick: ‘So the ISU announced blah, blah, blah regarding the Grand Prix events” and then going into talk of what it all means OR a small: “(so-and-so) posted on Instagram blah, blah” and then discussing what it all means etc. This would be so helpful. At the moment, unless you follow every FS drama or media or ISU announcement you find yourself at sea and having to piece enough together that you can pause and google for more info. Currently I’m paused googling regarding Grand Prix but thought I’d add this plea! lol (Reposted as wrote in time stamp thread before by mistake).

I thought similarly but since they kept talking about the speed of rotations and Trusova's strength, kinda took it as an, if her bad qaud technique is fixed, she can keep it long term.

Uhh these thoughts about Brian & TCC seem pretty speculative and baseless ngl? None of their skaters seem to have problems with the situation, so why should we? I'm pretty sure Orser and Hanyu have already stated there's not a problem after everyone was so dramatic over GPF. Also, if Yuzuru's gunning for 4A/other big jumps it makes sense to have Ghislain with him, right?

The re evaluating with Evgenia seems more like where to go given what is happening and what borders are open and timing (the quarantines) more than if she is gonna stay officially coached by Buyanova and Tarasova and leave Brian which in her case I do feel it is a 50/50 work of Brian and Tracy which some look down but man, to have to pull Evgenia out at whatever speed from everything Eteri is monumental.

I thought Zhenya's masquerade already choreographed by Jeff Buttle. Another Asia-Australia skaters better go to COC rather than NHK where there would be Hanyu, Shoma, Yuma, Keita and Tomono. And European to France rather than Russia. Ladies in Russia and Japan would be interesting, and America too... but the ladies competition would be weak in another GP. In football, some of this competition would called "early final". And the question is... aside of sponsorship, how ISU would gain money from this competition?
@TheSkatingLesson

Tarasova has her input. She has a strong personality. I wouldn't really say she matches Jeff's style. I could imagine it being Jeff's footwork sequence with the rest being Tarasova by December.
