Yes, I know I butchered some of the characters names again. (Sorry Akuma) Also I was a little under the weather when recording this audio, so sorry if any of it sounds weird.

Now do one on the other anime that is not about Ping Pong. The Ping Pong Club 1995 😅😂

this show was a 10/10 for me. no cheesy bs about generic anime themes, straight to the point and realistic. the unique art style and that soundtrack went hard. it really hits on the personal side and was directed well

Ping Pong is a certified masterpiece. It has such a deep concept that we don't usually find in the majority of sports anime. Great review!

Just found your channel after rewatching ping pong for like the 5th time. This show never fails to destroy me emotionally. Excellent analysis on this show. Judging from your videos, we both have extremely similar taste (major W)!

I have the theory that this anime is not praised by western otakus because in order to connect with it in a more personal level you had to practice a sport when you were young.

for real as a ping pong player this anime reflects the life of a young pro athlete better than anybody could try to describe it or anything.

@@waffleocalypse lmao I am European that lived in China at a pro table tennis club and it really is their life there, I've seen both sides and nobody can understand how different it is , especially average people that just like anime. Like my friends didn't appreciate this anime, really is a super niche gem.

Hey, a video on my favorite anime. Great stuff, though I think you should rewatch it to catch all the tiny details put in. The visual storytelling and symbolism can be missed on first watch but they add so much, and imo should be mentioned when talking about the show. Have you watched Sangatsu no Lion? A similar show with shogi replacing ping pong but not as hype and more introspective, calm and wholesome at times.
@NitsuaVids2 жыл бұрын
I've been meaning to watch march comes in like a lion for a while so I'll make sure to check it out. And yeah I didn't want to make this a deep analysis but I should've included a section on the visual metaphors.

im having this frustration with a friend, i really want to have somebody to watch this show with because it had a heavy impact on me and I wish I had someone to relate my enjoyment of the show to, but he actively refuses to even watch a single episode because the aspect of ping pong couldnt hook him so he "isnt interested" and I know i should just stop bugging him about trying the show but he feels to be so stubborn that he cant even let in the idea that it could potentially be good. Like i try to say, its not about ping pong, its great and made me reflect on my perspective about winning and talent as a whole, but even after explaining its hard refusal. I should probably just stop.

You talked about the show in such a mechanical fashion almost “generic” at best. And also calling the animation weird? Bruh, you don’t seem to know when something is intentional or appropriate to stands out. I personally think it super stylish and authentic, realistic and that’s why it stands apart from other shows in the same medium or genre.
