Watch the show “shogun”. Came out in 2024. Best show I’ve ever watched. It’s about Japan.

I can also recommend Tokyo Vice, such a cool show.

man as someone from the netherlands (and in your case germany) buying one of the houses outside of tokyo seems so tempting isnt it?, their sooo damn cheap
@MrTotoleouf2 ай бұрын
I mean, if you live in Japan why not, but the problem is that those "akiya" are loosing value with time.
@wegelingetje2 ай бұрын
@@MrTotoleouf i get that, but its not even possible for me to own a house here, so i rather have a house that doesnt gain value than no house haha

@@wegelingetje I lived in The Netherlands before moving to Tokyo. I've got a similar mentality but the dynamics of real estate in Japan are very different. Usually, those akiyas don't sell to foreigners so you really gotta hustle and ideally be able to speak Japanese on native level to convince landlords. Also, the locations are not ideal, there's a lot of repairs and maintenance that needs to be taken into account etc. etc. I am personally planning on buying one within the next 3-5 years, but I am flexible since I've got the convenience of living 20 minutes' walk from Shinjuku, basically almost rent free till then (I pay 15k yen per month all in). Then again, you got to take that into account as well. Rent is so cheap, why tie yourself to a permanent location that devalues? :P

@@stefanospap6288 interesting indeed, thanks for the info! Yeah i get what your saying, there are a lot of cons but also some pro's especially if your handy yourself, 15k yen per month all in reallly damn cheap indeed thats nuts! I asume its for a small space/ room? But stil insanely cheap

@@gongagong are you a wanker troll? Leave the guy alone. I also don’t like the idea of tats on my body but it is a sign of expression for others. We should respect their personal choices.
