He's not working, he just worked hard to make it happen 😄 he's there for 33 days total and trying to travel as much of Japan as possible in that amount of time, his trip has been EPIC so far! Just go for it honestly! You only live once, and who knows, the job really works out well and you might end up applying for another visa beginning a unique career. Otherwise you leave japan end January and go back wherever homestead may be, but at least you will have taken the opportunity. Solid dad lore regardless.

Work hard, keep your head down and be grateful blah blah. On the flipside, you have to keep your wits about you and ensure you're never being exploited by shady 'cash in hand' type employers without a sense of ethics or morals. They're out there. I've had my experiences. I really hope you take this as a real adventure and spend time developing language skills, which I sadly struggle embarrassingly with when in Japan (where I am currently). He never said he was leaving before his visa is up in December. People just assumed that with everything going on he was leaving before then. this job could just be to pass the time and earn some money before leaving. Or he could be going for a visa extension or he could be earning enough money for a ring. We won't know until he's ready to let us know. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride
