Kei Urana, the mangaka behind Gachiakuta is an artistic genius- and hopefully you can learn a thing or two from her to improve your art like I did! #art #digitalart #anime #drawing

It’s so expressive and feels very deliberate (meaning every stroke of her pen has a meaning)

Yes I love kei Uranas art! I’ve been studying her art for a little bit as well as others to make something of my own, but she’s truly inspired me to pick up the pen again and genuinely explore with things like anatomy line weight and design!

thank you for the kind words! that’s why i tried to use non-spoiler panels and stuff… or at least things that wouldn’t be too spoiler heavy lol.

i really like your analysis, and the final product for your oc was beautiful. i was wondering what brushes you used to achieve that texture?
@sadboygumАй бұрын
thanks for watching. If you look up "whyt manga copic tutorial", his method is the most similar to what i use to achieve that texture!

When I learned to draw Western-style cartoons with a pencil as a kid, the bolder graphite lines were always reflective and indented into the page because of how much pressure I was applying in order to convey a sense of line weight. Fast forward to middle school when I started drawing in an anime style (and drawing digitally, or with pens) and until now, I just cannot get myself to draw the thin, clean lineart employed in so many illustrated works (unless I'm drawing something with a lot of detail). It just feels so restrictive and sterile honestly lmao

How did you come out with the design for the ears? Like they are so weird and unique
@sadboygumАй бұрын
throughout my art journey, i have always had a fixation on large/weird ears, so i am always playing around with them until i find something that works for me. The end goal is always “quirkiness”.

@@Temomemo-yt i assume you’re talking about her drawing methods? i didn’t state that she used digital or traditional in the video. that said, she uses both. traditional for the base manga inking, and uses digital for color pages and cover illustrations.
