Villa have had more success over the course of their entire history than Spurs, but until we made it back to the Premier League we've had an awful decade that definitely set us back. In that time, Spurs were able to continuously finish in the top 5-6 nearly every year and reach a champions league final as well as challenge for the league on more than one occasion. Combine this with the worldwide growth in the premier League, Villa have some catching up to do. Even if we're historically bigger and more successful.

I'd be happy if that was Spurs' history With spurs atm, the stadium, training facilities, global support is going crazy atm, sonny is a big draw in aisa, but also with the extra matchday revenue and other stadium revenues, i think villa should study what we did and copy the plan (obviously not the stadium, i love villa park) villa need a good few years playing in Europe to start getting bigger! 6 of Villa's titles were won before world war one, clubs weren't even professional then, most clubs played cricket in the summer and then football in the winter and the league was mainly a bunch of teams from the Midlands and the North West. I'll give you the European cup and league win in the early 80's you had a cracking side then. But Spurs have more trophies since WW2 and are bigger on every other metric you can name.

Oh, this gold 😂 real gold. Opinioned I understand. Aston villa have won 10 trophies in the last 114 years. Spurs have 24 serious in that time. Villa have won the league once since 1910. They may come from the second city, but Spurs have a far superior level of fan base, history, etc. The last time villa slightly challenged for the league was under Big Ron. Fans are fans at the end of the day, villa get a good manager but never an elite one. One good season and they start getting big ideas. They've beaten Chelsea luckily, Burnley, Palace, Everton and found Brighton on a very rare off day. They next have Luton, forest and Fulham. So with the exception of Liverpool, they had comfortable start. Wait til the following few weeks where they play Spurs, city and Arsenal in a very short period when they are tested by better, more talented teams.

How is the size of a club measured? Well if instead of looking at clubs for what they have or have not won and look at them for what thry are ( business's) then it's a lot easier to measure For starters the EPL is the biggest sports league( not just football) in the world in terms of audience which is why has the biggest revenue in the world of sports. Man U are absolutely massive,they make up half of the entire world wide tv audience of the EPL ( which is why the EPL must be desperate to see the back of the Glazers probably even more so than Utd fans) After them its ( in this order) Liverpool Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham Neither Villa or Newcastle are anywhere close to Tottenham ,the drop off after Tottenham is huge .
