equilibrium: +12% ability damage, no crits +frees up pocket slot +occultists/soul ring have their passives and don't lower hit chance. also allows for ring of death in learning scenarios -takes up aura slot (no invigorate) -biting perk is useless mahjarrat: +5% from aura, +17.9% average damage from crits (10% base crit chance, 5% from reavers ring, 8.8% from biting 4 on a lvl 20 armour, 12% from grim) -uses pocket slot -uses aura slot (no invigorate) invigorate: +10% extra adrenaline with every death skulls or living death allows different rotations +17.9% average extra damage from crits -uses pocket slot I'd say equilibrium is good until you have biting 4. either way use invigorate in places where invigorating rotations make a difference

@@MaeveK on paper crit looks better but after swapping to equilibrium plus occultist ring I was getting zam 500% kills 30 seconds faster and reset most other best times. That was compared to my biting 4 with majj aura and crit ring (reavers?) can’t remember its name off top. Nice thing is ful book stacks great with equilibrium aura and costs a ton less than grim pages upkeep

@@AshKhan92 personally I did flawless hard mode with equilibrium normal setup, but instead of using ripper demon pet for the bonus damage I put in hellhound and used the damage reduction relic to cover the absorption. I know some people like using aegis with hellhound but for my gear setup this was unnecessary too much absorption and sometimes dealing out higher damage is better than not killing things fast enough. If you’re pretty experienced in pvm and have t95 gear, you can sacrifice a little absorption for more dps, but the hellhound is still great for that fight for any combo

You could probably shake up your perks too. Swap Biting out for something different.

Zorgoth's soul ring, found works well. Whilst worn, the ring grants a passive effect called Soul Spring: every necromancy hit dealt by the player yields a 5% chance to generate an additional stack of Residual Soul. Area of effect abilities such as Blood Siphon can trigger the effect for every target and every hit. Abilities that would normally yield 1 stack will yield 2 stacks when Soul Spring triggers. Abilities that consume Residual Souls may also trigger Soul Spring, refunding stacks. Limitations: Hits after the initial one from Bloat cannot generate souls. Conjured spirits deal spirit damage and thus cannot generate souls. The passive effect still triggers whilst in Legacy Mode, despite not having access to abilities. The souls obtained in Legacy Mode persist when switching out of it. It is unknown if this is intentional.

For ironmen without access to grim it's especially good. And don't forget the fact that you can replace biting 4 with a defensive perk. For ironmen in particular it can save a big grind for nox components. I use it for afk nm kerepac on the iron for jas pages. As you soul split there you don't even want devoted so you can throw on lucky 6 as well for even more damage reduction

Gonna def try this out, thanks for the testing! Also small correction, Equilibrium has only had the current effect since March of this year, so while it has been around before, the 12% damage is new, it used to just lower your max hit and raise you min hit, but this effect is waaay better!

Have been using this aura for a little while now, and I've gotta say it's amazing - Works beautifully with Jas book too, since Jas stores part of your damage, it's much more consistent to hit the 30k cap on procs - Such a good aura for when you don't have access to all the crit buffs

I tried Equilibrium aura on Telos 2449 and the truth is I was quite surprised, the kills came out the same or only 5 seconds slower than using Reaver, Kalg, Mahjarrat, Grimo.

I find the equulibrium aura to be better for melee too as you reach hitcaps without using crits so the eq aura is less dependent on licky crits and much more consistent and more damage unless you get very lucky on the crit side

I do 500% melee zamorak 2x easier and 30 secs faster with eq aura than a crit setup and alot less food as it opens for a defensive perk over biting and vamp aura over grim. Or ful book just for overkill on dmg and hitcapping on everything

Yeah they really really need to add other ways to get aura's already, considering the fact that you can pull out your wallet for almost any item in game apart from untradeables is pretty damn stupid and a huge waste of potential money for gagex...

Might shuffle the perk meta slightly. I believe enhanced devoted-devoted combo becomes relevant, unless you want to stack multiple slayer perks for QoL. There really arent other offensive perks to add replacing biting.

Auras start going on cooldown as soon as you activate it. So if its a 4hr cd, but a 1 hour aura, you only have to wait 3 hours once it ends. But yeah if you log off, that cd timer keeps going, meaning you could log off for 4 hours come back, use the rest of your aura then activate it again. For the dark magic bit, I meant to say mahjarat and revers ring lol oops.

@@InitYeah auras go on cd after they're intended to end, as an example i was just using extended resourceful (1hr regularly and i extended to 2hrs) it has a 3hr cooldown. After I finished my 2hr resourceful aura it still had 3 hours of cooldown left. If i had logged out for 2.5 hours and then used the 2 hour aura, it would have had 30mins cooldown left.

Most you can get from marks of war. It depends what style you are using. Majharrat is think is only bought with reaper points I think. Most loyalty points are used for skilling auras which get pricy. There are some niche pvm auras with loyalty points like this video, venomblood, aegis. There's a few but not commonly used.

Personally I'd assume that the other ring is better, because getting necrosis at the wrong time might make your rotation a bit less efficient (like getting only 2 stacks from your touch of death because the ring put you at 10/12). The simplest way to test is to just compare a 3 stack volley of souls average damage to a finger of deaths average damage, as both would then be a 0 cost ability you got for free after 3 procs of their respective ring (I'd check now but I'm out and about on mobile). Also with rasial lantern you can have 5 stacks of souls, which just means you're less likely to hit the cap of the resource, which means again more value (especially if you're building these stacks for free during your usual living death rotation)

So I think the rs guy said if you do more than 180k DPM then jas is better and 180k dpm is very easy to do. Also wen book isn't all that good at bosses that move. Wen might be good at places like ed1 on the trash mods cuz it can hit multiple enemies.

You can still get 3 death skulls in Living Death without Inspiration or Supreme Invigorating, the timing is just ridiculously tight to do so, and you (afaik) need to have Adrenaline Renewals for it to work (you MUST use LD & Renewal on the same tick)

I wish jagex would drop dragging their heels and just make solak enrage-able like zamorak. Current solak = 100%, remove final phrase and scale down for 0-99% and just scale the loot like zamorak. It's not hard and maybe grimore pages wouldn't be as expensive if more people get into solak. Makes the entire boss more engaging to more players

Hey init, looks like they stealth nerfed this. Equilibrium aura had been changed, it no longer flat boosts ability damage 13%. Now it reduces max hit by 25% and raises minimum by 25% so you always hit in the middle of damage rng. But it allows crits. It basically shoves your bell curve of damage smack in the middle. Which I imagine will fall below someone ignoring this and doing a high crit build and using slots to crit instead of ability damage items forced to the middle

I just purchased this today. The loyalty shop does show the tool tip mentioned above reducing max hit by 25% and raising minimum hit by 25%. The in-game tool tip however still shows the "12% increased damage but prevents critically striking" tool tip. Kind of confusing, hoping it didn't take a hit as I liked the idea of this method.

Aura reset = 2k points 1k points per hour = 2 k points per aura usage So using aura resets makes it even more. Free to have permanent up

So basically it doesn't matter too much in terms of DPS, but equilibruim has slightly more over longer fights as opposed to mahjarrat over shorter fights. I do wonder how much Invoke Lord of Bones affects these times. I would assume it's more effective on equilibrium.

It definitely starts on activation. Now that auras don't expire when logged out it's easier to tell. If you log out with 2 minutes left and come back 24hrs later there will still be 2 minutes left but you'll be able to activate it again without a reset once that 2 minutes is up. It'll be off cooldown even though the aura has been active the entire time.

Deffo more testing to be done on books and perks, I will likely do this as I plan to use the aura more now :) But I have no idea as of right now which perks would replace biting!

​@@InitYeahI replaced biting with absorbative for now while experimenting. If the bosses attack rate is high, you can replace it with enhanced devoted and stack it with devoted. There's not a lot of offensive armor perks that don't already get utilized, so dropping biting kind of lends towards a defensive perk replacing it. I'm sure if/when more people give Equilibrium a chance that those smarter than me will find a new BiS perk setup for necro. Or if we ever get an equilibrium perk back from the combat beta, then that'll likely be the biting replacement one would assume. Thanks for giving this a test, and I look forward to the theory crafting for this

You always needed an aura to do best damage with any combat style but you don't need a combat aura to do anything. If you want to min-max then yea but you don't have to... maj aura kill times are basically within margin of error and you can buy that aura with gp.

If its with mtx then you can buy it with "GP". Thats a fucked up system too. Even worse then loyalty points. Why cant I just buy a good combat aura for necro from War's Retreat? This is what happens when you rush a new combat style in the game. Like dint they just released a mid boss lvl for necro? Like 7 months after the release of necro?
