More like a caregiver. Cindy is older than him which in Africa means a lot. Age is a very important social emblem. Cindy also helped raise Reuben and his brother when they were kids. So this is more like a full circle moment. Cheers

Ruben explained the demographic in another video, Cindy is his big sister and is above him in the family hierarchy. Hierarchy is everything to Baboons, and she knows her place. She see's Ruben's mother, as her mother because she is, and will always be subordinate to his(and her) mother.
